Rosenzweig stays with Carlin for FR3.5
March 4th, 2010
Jake Rosenzweig will remain with Carlin for a second year as he makes the move up to Formula Renault 3.5 for the 2010 season.
The American racer competed with Carlin in last year’s Formula 3 Euro Series, scoring one podium finish at Zandvoort. Rosenzweig also ran in the invitation class of the British F3 round at Spa-Francorchamps, finishing fifth in his first race in the series.
The 20-year-old has most recently raced in the third round of GP2 Asia in Bahrain with Super Nova. He joins Mikhail Aleshin in the Carlin FR3.5 squad.
“I’m looking forward to working with Carlin again for a second season,” said Rosenzweig. “There will be some faces I know on the World Series team and some new people as well. I am hoping to learn a lot and develop quickly so we can challenge for some good results. It will be good to have an experienced team-mate to learn from.”
Team boss Trevor Carlin said Rosenzweig had made great strides last year, and had not been overshadowed by his 2009 team-mate Brendon Hartley in F3, despite Hartley’s year of experience in the British championship.
“I’m delighted that Jake is staying with us for another season,” Carlin said. “He’s developed a lot as a driver over the last 12 months and is getting better and better.
“He equalled his more experienced team-mate last year in F3 Euro Series, so I’m expecting to see some good things from him this season. We’ve got a great team this year in Jake and Mikhail, it’s going to be a pleasure to have them both in the team.”
Rosenzweig is set to join new team-mate Aleshin for the opening, two day, World Series test of the season, which starts at Barcelona today.
