Rahal, Lloyd Land IndyCar Rides
March 11th, 2010

PLAINFIELD, Ill. — Graham Rahal and Alex Lloyd are rideless no more.
Graham Rahal, who has been searching for a ride since losing his seat at Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing because of sponsorship woes, will drive the No. 67 Dollar General entry for Sarah Fisher Racing on the Streets of St. Petersburg and at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama.
Lloyd has landed at Dale Coyne Racing, where he will pilot the No. 19 with backing from the Boy Scouts of America during the season opener in Brazil.
“We are all very enthusiastic about having Graham in the seat for the two road course races that start off our season,” said Fisher, whose 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series schedule includes all the domestic oval races. “He has incredible talent. When it was brought to my attention that he was available, I reached out to Dollar General, who was in full support of our decision to give Graham the opportunity.”
Rahal will miss the season opener this weekend in Brazil, but he remains optimistic about his chances at the first two road course events on the 2010 schedule.
“Sarah has clearly done an impressive job building Sarah Fisher Racing and I really thank her, the team and Dollar General for this opportunity to compete in St. Pete and at Barber Motorsports Park,” Rahal told IndyCar.com. “I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the Dollar General No. 67 car and hopefully contribute to the success of SFR.”
At this point Dale Coyne Racing has only confirmed Lloyd will pilot the No. 19 in Brazil. The official statement released by the team indicated it would make a more formal announcement at the first domestic event on the schedule, which will be held March 28 on the Streets of St. Petersburg in Florida.
Lloyd, the 2007 Firestone Indy Lights Series champion, has made three IZOD IndyCar Series starts in his career, including two during the Indianapolis 500.
