Wirth wants to showcase CFD technology

Virgin Racing technical boss Nick Wirth is aiming to showcase the CFD technology outside of Formula 1 by building a successful grand prix car with it. Wirth is designing Virgin’s maiden F1 car using CFD – Computational Fluid Dynamics – instead of the traditional wind tunnel method used by all Formula 1 teams.
Ferrari: Schumacher return great for F1

Stefano Domenicali says Ferrari was very disappointed to hear the news of Michael Schumacher’s move to Mercedes GP, but the team boss reckons the German’s comeback is great new for Formula 1. Schumacher, who will turn 41 next month, will make a sensational return to the sport after having retired for the first time at the end of the 2006 season
Monteiro tests Nismo Super GT

Tiago Monteiro tested a factory Nismo Super GT car in Japan earlier this month with a view to possible racing in the series next year. Monteiro, whose WTCC deal with SEAT ended this year, sampled the car at Fuji two weeks ago and said that despite only getting limited seat time, he liked what he found. “The car is really impressive and it is a works team, so they are very professional,” he told AUTOSPORT.

Calendar to be expanded in 2010

The 2010 calendar for the FIA Formula Two Championship has been expanded from eight to nine events, with two races to be held at each event to give a total of 18 races for the championship. Race duration will be increased to 40 minutes for both races at each 2010 F2 event.
