2011 NiSWC champion Adds NASCAR iRacing.com Class C Series Crown to His Trophy Case In the span of seven days, Alex Warren went from winning the NASCAR iRacing.com Pro Series championship to having to battle fellow Pro pilot Brandon Buchberger down to the wire in the NASCAR iRacing Class C Series (NiCCS). The duel was just that, close enough that it came down to the final laps of the season and when the points were tallied, it was Warren and his Core Pipe/GSRacing.net sponsored team who came out on top after the grueling twelve week season – by one point. Gow: NGTC regs enabled MG return

British Touring Car supremo Alan Gow believes the new NGTC regulations have made it possible for MG to return to the series. MG has announced it is returning to the category with a works assault run by ex-Vauxhall factory team Triple Eight Race Engineering, with double champion Jason Plato and Andy Neate on the driving strength.
Laine completes Arden’s GP3 line-up

Matias Laine will complete MW Arden’s driver line-up for the upcoming GP3 season, the team has announced. Laine, 21, made his debut in GP3 with the Marussia Manor team last year after having raced in the Formula Renault 2.0 and F3 Euro Series before that.

The team has revealed its car on the cover of the latest edition of F1 Racing magazine, subscribers of which received their copies today. Petrov hopes to sort future by next week

Vitaly Petrov believes his Formula 1 future should be sorted within the next week, with the Russian remaining hopeful that he will be on the starting grid in Australia. The former Renault driver, who was dropped by the outfit at the end of last year in favour of Romain Grosjean, has been linked with a role at Caterham but could also work with Pirelli if he does not land a race seat. Speaking at a Pirelli event in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, Petrov said he could not expand on what his options were for the year ahead but reckoned that matters should be settled soon

Pirelli has tweaked its tyre markings for 2012 to make the different compounds more visible for fans – with its wet rubber also getting a total revamp in their look. Pirelli has promised Formula 1 fans that it will deliver even more exciting racing in 2012 thanks to a more aggressive approach with its tyre compounds. At a season launch media event in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, Pirelli revealed that it was closing up the gap between compounds for the season ahead to ensure that drivers and teams faced a challenging time at race weekends.
Petrov in frame for Pirelli test role
