Week 12 of the iRacing.com Street Stock Series saw sim racers travel to Oxford Plains Speedway for the final week of the season and the crowning of the 2011 Season 4 champion. Many drivers started-off the season with the goal of dethroning three time series champion Nick Ottinger (Carolina) but only one driver was able to make it happen. Maxime Paquette (Eastern Canada) was the one who came out on top when all was said and done. Weekly Standings With a season championship within his reach, Paquette set fire to Oxford Plains. World Championship Fields Finalized

The fields for iRacing’s twin 2012 World Championships were finalized last week with the completion of the 2011 NASCAR iRacing.com Pro Series (NiPS) and the 2011 iRacing.com Pro Series Road Racing (iPSRR). The top 25 finishers in each of the Pro series secured berths in the upcoming NASCAR iRacing.com Series World Championship (NiSWC) and iRacing.com World Championship Grand Prix Series (iWCGPS). Beginning in February, they will join the top 25 finishers from last year’s NiSWC and iWCGPS in battling for the top prizes in online racing and the World Championship titles. The 2012 NASCAR iRacing.com Series World Championship kicks-off on February 21 at Daytona International Speedway and will feature a 17 race schedule mirroring that of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup. GP3 will race at Monaco in 2012

The GP3 series will make its first visit to Monaco this year, championship organisers announced on Thursday. The Formula 1 support series has been unable to race on the support bill at the Principality for the past two years, mainly due to issues with finding space for its paddock. GP3 organisers revealed before Christmas that they were working on adding Monaco to the 2012 calendar, and on Thursday its addition was confirmed.
RCR adds fourth Cup car part-time

Richard Childress Racing will run a fourth car in the first five rounds of this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup, with Elliott Sadler and Brendan Gaughan sharing the driving. The former championship-winning team was expected to downsize from four to three cars for 2012, following the departure of Clint Bowyer to Michael Waltrip Racing. But Childress will continue to field the #33 Chevrolet for at least the first five races of the year, with Sadler at the wheel for the Daytona 500.
Caterham eyes another step forward

Coyne confirms Wilson’s return

Justin Wilson’s long-expected return to Dale Coyne Racing for the 2012 IndyCar season has finally been confirmed. The Briton delivered Coyne’s first win at Watkins Glen in 2009, but left at the end of the year to spend two seasons with Dreyer & Reinbold. His return coincides with that of engineer Bill Pappas, who worked with him in his previous stint with the team.
Barrichello to test with KV Racing

Rubens Barrichello will test an IndyCar single-seater at Sebring next week as he explores his racing options for 2012. The Brazilian’s last chance to remain in Formula 1 ended last week when Williams announced that it was not renewing a deal with him, and instead opted to sign his compatriot Bruno Senna. But with Barrichello seemingly keen to continue racing, sources close to the Brazilian have confirmed that he is now seriously looking at options in IndyCar
