March 30th, 2012
Takuma Sato said that it was not worth risking more than a couple of laps in today’s wet second IndyCar practice session at Barber, despite ending the afternoon with the quickest time. The Rahal Letterman Lanigan racer set a best time of 1m19.0536s early in the session before the rain became heavier
Stewart: Current run my best ever
March 30th, 2012
Tony Stewart believes seven victories from the last 15 Sprint Cup races, plus the fact that he captured his third series’ title in that period, marks his best ever run in NASCAR. Stewart has picked up this year where he left off in 2011, winning two of the first five races (at Las Vegas and more recently at Fontana, in a rain-shortened event). The team owner/driver who races for his own Stewart-Haas Racing squad has been able to keep his momentum despite off-season personnel changes to his outfit, including replacing his championship-winning crew chief Darian Grubb with former Penske and Joe Gibbs Racing man Steve Addington.

March 30th, 2012
Heavy rain resulted in a wash-out of Friday’s second IndyCar practice session at Barber Motorsports Park, although Takuma Sato was quickest of the drivers who did venture out to brave the conditions. The Rahal Letterman Lanigan racer set a best time of 1m18.8684s, although he only completed three laps before retreating to the team trailer. Dragon’s Sebastien Bourdais was second-fastest with a time 0.4 slower than that set by Sato, with Ganassi’s Scott Dixon rounding out the top three.
Hirvonen criticises stage cancellation
March 30th, 2012
Rally of Portugal leader Mikko Hirvonen has criticised the decision by event organisers to cancel Friday afternoon’s three stages due to the heavy rain and fog in the area.
