Spec MotoGP ECU mandatory for 2014

A Spec ECU and datalogger system will be made compulsory in MotoGP from 2014, governing body the FIM has announced. Factory teams will however be granted the allowance of being able to use their own software systems, but only if they also agree to run on 20, rather than 24, litres of fuel for each race. The FIM stressed however that the changes will only become law at the successful conclusion of negotiations between Dorna and the manufacturers over the supply of prototype chassis and engines.
Peerless Loeb storms away on asphalt

Sebastien Loeb stormed away from the field on the second afternoon of the Rally of Spain. The world champion extended his advantage over nearest pursuer Jari-Matti Latvala from 18.9 to 27 through Saturday’s second loop. Ford driver Latvala had tried his utmost to stay in touch with Loeb’s Citroen, but had to concede defeat and admit that the Frenchman – in his last event as a full-time World Rally driver – was still a class apart on asphalt

Jonas Folger captured his second grand prix pole with a last-gasp effort in qualifying for the Moto3 season finale at Valencia. The 19-year-old Aspar rider, who was also on pole at Aragon earlier this year, joined forces with Miguel Oliveira’s Monlau Suter-Honda for a final flying effort as the chequered flag flew. Both men helped spur the other on, duly capturing first and second respectively at the death

His name is splashed all over Katier Scott’s Classic Teams Championship reports, from the race results to the superb images of his used to illustrate the stories. But the resident of Vantaa, Finland can do lots more than wheel a Lotus 79 and take great screen shots. A music buff and avid golfer, he sports an impressive 205 wins in 614 road course starts (and another 10 on the ovals) with season crowns in the inRacingNews Challenge (SRF), Prototype & GT Championship (Corvette C6.R) and the Radical Racing Challenge, not to mention a slew of Time Trial titles to match.
