Stewart revealed that Edwards was graceful in defeat when speaking to him privately after the race and appreciated his sincerity when congratulating him, while trying to deal with the bitterness of defeat at the same time

November 21st, 2011
Tony Stewart overcame adversity to beat Carl Edwards to victory at Homestead, claiming his third NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title in the process. The battle for the 2011 title will go down in the record books as the closest ever in the history of the series as Stewart and Edwards ended up tied in the points after 36 races, with Stewart clinching the title by virtue of his record-breaking five wins during the Chase to Edwards’ single one during the year

Edwards quickest in final practice
November 19th, 2011
Carl Edwards topped the final practice session of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season at Homestead, running just three flying laps while focusing on this afternoon’s qualifying session. Following a busy first session where the Roush Fenway racer was second fastest, Edwards went on to set the best lap of the 60-minute final practice, doing so during his second and final run with a time of 31.57 seconds, at an average speed of 171.124 mph, while simulating qualifying. He had initially set the pace with a first qualifying run in the early minutes, then ran again in the final 20 minutes to remain at the top of the leaderboard with only three timed laps.

Lindsey Rebounds at Homestead
by Jason Lofing on November 16th, 2011
Marcus Lindsey’s troubled 24th place finish last week at Phoenix International Raceway seems like the distant past after he grabbed his second win of the young 2011 NASCAR iRacing.com Pro Series (NiPS) season at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Tuesday evening. Unlike his win in the season opener at Texas, Lindsey did not have the car to beat in South Florida. Instead, he was in the right place at the right time on a late restart and took full advantage of the opportunity to lead Daniel Pope II and Michael Conti across the finish line. The bulk of the online race was led not by Lindsey, but by teammates Pope and Richie Davidowitz. After two quick cautions to open the action, the race went green for nearly the rest of the 133 [...]

Stewart and title rival Carl Edwards will head into next weekend’s season finale at Homestead to decide who becomes Johnson’s successor, after the Hendrick Motorsports driver’s 14th-place finish yesterday put him mathematically out of contention for another title
Engelhart in at Irwindale
by Tim Terry on November 14th, 2011
They say one race could change the complexion of a season long championship. The top split race of Week One in 2011 Season Four on the iRacing.com Tour Modified Series (iTMS) may very well be looked back upon in 12 weeks as that online race. The series visited Toyota Speedway at Irwindale for Round One of the 12 round tour and it was two former series champions showing the way in California. Herb Engelhart was the winner when the drivers took to the track for Thursday’s 3641 Strength of Field (sof) race. Engelhart led 51 of the 100 laps in the event to take the win over teammate and reigning Tour Modified champion Brandon Salvatore. The one lead change happened between the two when Salvatore lost the lead he enjoyed [...]
