    Jason is 21 years old and was born and raised in Elk Grove. California. A big time NASCAR fan, he hasn’t missed a race on Sunday in years. Lofing is also a huge San Fransisco Giants fan and tries to take in at least a couple games a year. Other than sim racing, his biggest (and far more expensive!) hobby is photography. Although he is rather new to sim racing, Lofing has already accomplished some pretty impressive results, qualifying for the 2011 iRacing Oval Pro Series in Season 1, 2011, winning the inaugural Landon Cassill Qualifying Challenge and finishing runner-up in the second one.

    Tim Terry, aka the voice of Maritime stock car racing, fell in love with sim racing in 2004 after he joined the Sim Racing Network crew as a pit reporter. From October 2004 to SRNtv’s closure in June 2007, he’s covered prestigious races and leagues such as the Online 500, FLM Fall 400, Real Racing Online and the DMP Racing League – each as the lead broadcaster for the company. At the same time the wheels started to turn in another direction as he began announcing stock car racing locally. Terry became the assistant announcer at Scotia Speedworld in May 2007 and took over full duties in May 2009 when long-time voice Mike Kaplan retired from the track. Terry also became the series voice of the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour in ’09 and continues to hold down both posts in 2011. He has also announced races for the Pro All Stars Series, Atlantic Open Wheel and Maritime League of Legends tours and has called races at six different Atlantic Canadian tracks. Terry can be heard online at WebRacingNetwork.com, RLMtv.com and OLRtv.com covering sim races. He also makes occasional appearances on PSRtv.com. Bertrand Baguette rounded out his title year in perfect fashion by taking his second victory of the weekend at Motorland Aragon. The Belgian passed poleman Fairuz Fauzy during the mandatory pitstops to take his fifth Formula Renault 3.5 win of the season and secure the 2009 teams’ championship for Draco Racing. A relieved Fauzy pronounced second place as “job done,” as the result ensured that the Malaysian accomplished his pre-race mission of leap-frogging Tech 1 Racing’s Charles Pic for the runner-up spot in the championship

FR 3.5 calendar announced

Next year’s Formula Renault 3.5 calendar has been unveiled, with Brno and Hockenheim being added to the schedule for the first time. The championship will run at all eight Renault World Series events, while a single Monaco Grand Prix support race will also be held – as has been the case this year. Hockenheim replaces the Nurburgring as the host of the German round while Magny-Cours returns to the calendar for the first time since 2007, in place of Le Mans Bugatti.

Fairuz Fauzy celebrated his birthday, and the recent rebranding of his team from Mofaz Fortec to Mofaz Racing, by setting the fastest time in the Formula Renault 3.5 Superpole qualifying session at Motorland Aragon. The Malaysian entered this weekend’s final round in fifth place in the standings, with only an outside chance of claiming the runner-up position in the championship. The four points earned for pole will aid the Formula 1 hopeful’s chances of bridging the 13 point deficit to current second placed man Charles Pic, who failed to make the Superpole cut.

P1 Motorsport drivers James Walker and Daniil Move locked out the fastest times in qualifying for the Formula Renault 3.5 season finale at the spectacular new Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain. Vying for the runner-up spot in the championship, Walker set the A group session’s quickest lap with 1m44.201s.

Bertrand Baguette repeated his morning form to go fastest in the second Formula Renault 3.5 free practice session at Motorland Aragon. With the newly-completed circuit yet to fully rubber in, the Belgian was able to slice 1.7 seconds from his earlier effort. Chris van der Drift, hunting his and Epsilon Euskadi’s maiden win of the season, went second quickest in a session that was interrupted by three red flags.

RSR team owner Paul Gentilozzi has revealed that he has spoken to Nigel Mansell about racing his new factory-backed Jaguar XKR GT2 in the 2010 American Le Mans Series. Former Champ Car World Series co-owner Gentilozzi has made it clear that he wants a British driver to race one of the new GT2 machines, unveiled during the Petit Le Mans event at Road Atlanta, and is hoping to entice the 1992 Formula 1 world champion into his squad. “I ran in to Nigel Mansell at Le Mans this year, and we knew each other from our Champ Car days,” Gentilozzi told AUTOSPORT

Charles Pic led home Tech 1 Racing team-mate Brendon Hartley in a formation finish at the Nurburging this afternoon, but the biggest celebrations of the weekend were reserved for new champion Bertrand Baguette. From seventh on the grid, the Belgian survived a wobbly start to proceedings in which he dropped two positions, to clinch the Formula Renault 3.5 series title by virtue of a solid fifth place finish for Draco.

Bertrand Baguette has taken a giant step closer to lifting the Formula Renault 3.5 title after winning the reverse grid race at the Nurburgring today. Assisted by the retirement of nearest pre-race challenger James Walker, the Draco driver has extended a 42 point lead over Toro Rosso Formula 1 driver Jaime Alguersuari, with just 46 points available over the final three races.

Brendon Hartley made a flawless return to Formula Renault 3.5 by topping the superpole session at the Nurburgring today, in doing so earning pole position for tomorrow’s feature race. The New Zealander has spent the season juggling championships at the behest of patron Red Bull, and had sat out the previous two Formula Renault 3.5 meetings, at Le Mans Bugatti and Portimao, as Formula 3 Euro Series commitments with Carlin took priority. In a repeat of Friday’s opening practice session, the Tech 1 Racing team locked out the top two spots, with Frenchman Charles Pic finishing within two tenths of a second of his rookie team-mate.

Oliver Turvey and Fairuz Fauzy set the fastest times in the group stage of qualifying, ahead of the grid deciding Formula Renault 3.5 Superpole session at the Nurburgring this morning. P1 Motorsport’s James Walker demonstrated that the team’s recent upheavals after a devastating factory fire had not taken the edge off its competitiveness. Walker made it two Britons at the head of the B session, finishing just a tenth behind Turvey’s benchmark 1m46.176s.

Formula Renault 3.5 title protagonist James Walker continued to ply pressure on to championship leader Bertrand Baguette by setting the fastest time of the afternoon in second practice at the Nurburgring. The P1 Motorsport driver trails Baguette by 31 points in the standings, and will be keen to make inroads into the deficit this weekend to prevent the Belgian from clinching the title prior to the Motorland Aragon final, although Baguette was second quickest in the session. Four tenths of a second behind the closely matched leaders, Briton Jon Lancaster was third fastest for Comtec.
