    Jason is 21 years old and was born and raised in Elk Grove. California. A big time NASCAR fan, he hasn’t missed a race on Sunday in years. Lofing is also a huge San Fransisco Giants fan and tries to take in at least a couple games a year. Other than sim racing, his biggest (and far more expensive!) hobby is photography. Although he is rather new to sim racing, Lofing has already accomplished some pretty impressive results, qualifying for the 2011 iRacing Oval Pro Series in Season 1, 2011, winning the inaugural Landon Cassill Qualifying Challenge and finishing runner-up in the second one.

    Tim Terry, aka the voice of Maritime stock car racing, fell in love with sim racing in 2004 after he joined the Sim Racing Network crew as a pit reporter. From October 2004 to SRNtv’s closure in June 2007, he’s covered prestigious races and leagues such as the Online 500, FLM Fall 400, Real Racing Online and the DMP Racing League – each as the lead broadcaster for the company. At the same time the wheels started to turn in another direction as he began announcing stock car racing locally. Terry became the assistant announcer at Scotia Speedworld in May 2007 and took over full duties in May 2009 when long-time voice Mike Kaplan retired from the track. Terry also became the series voice of the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour in ’09 and continues to hold down both posts in 2011. He has also announced races for the Pro All Stars Series, Atlantic Open Wheel and Maritime League of Legends tours and has called races at six different Atlantic Canadian tracks. Maverick Vinales scored the second win of his 125cc career in a rain-truncated race at Assen, which championship leader Nico Terol had to sit out due to hand injuries sustained on Saturday. Aspar rider Terol was unable to take up his eighth place on the grid as he required surgery after crashing in both morning practice and qualifying yesterday, giving his rivals a golden opportunity to carve a chunk from the hitherto dominant Spaniard’s points lead. Jonas Folger claimed his maiden 125cc victory after winning a battle with Ajo team-mate Johann Zarco in wet conditions at Silverstone. Championship leader Nico Terol was a subdued eighth, losing his early lead as Folger and Zarco charged towards the front, and then fading as the race progressed.

Rising star Maverick Vinales claimed his first 125cc pole position after a tight battle with championship leader Nico Terol at Silverstone. Terol had hung back at first, allowing Vinales and Johann Zarco – the only men to beat him on the road this year – to fight it out for pole. Just after half-distance, Terol thrust his Aspar Aprilia to the front with a time nearly a second clear of his rivals, as has been his habit in qualifying so far this year.

Honda Racing Corporation has launched the Moto3 machine that will replace the 125cc World Championship as the junior category of grand prix racing next year. The new four-stroke NSF250R was unveiled during the build-up to the Catalunya Grand Prix at Barcelona by HRC vice-president Shuhei Nakamoto and Yoshiyuki Kurayoshi, who has overseen the development of the bike. “I’m very happy to be here in Catalunya launching the new machine that Honda has produced to compete in the Moto3 category next season,” said Nakamoto.

Moto3 bike to appear at Barcelona

The first example of Moto3 race machinery will be officially presented during the build-up to June’s Catalan Grand Prix. Honda Racing Corporation, which has developed the new four-stroke NSF250R as the successor to the 125cc World Championship, will unveil the machine at the Barcelona circuit on June 2. “This high-performance, lightweight and compact racing machine inherits important elements from the RS125R and will allow users to ride with the same sense of comfort whilst learning the basics to move up from entry level to the premier class, serving as a springboard in creating future MotoGP championship riders,” a statement from HRC read.

The Spaniard spent much of the race battling with his Aspar team-mate Hector Faubel, but with the 2007 series runner-up crashing on the final lap, Terol was able to cruise home with a comfortable margin over wet-weather stars Jonas Folger and Johann Zarco. Sandro Cortese beat Nico Terol to pole position for the 125cc race at Jerez. The German managed to outshine Terol – who had been utterly dominant in Qatar a fortnight ago – in two of the three practice sessions, and then grabbed pole at the end of qualifying. Cortese lapped in 1m47.399s on his Team Germany Aprilia, beating Aspar rider Terol by 0.209 seconds.

The rest of the field barely saw the Aspar Aprilia rider, as having been fastest in every practice session and qualifying, Terol broke away from the pack at the start and pulled away at a second per lap early on. Smith wins as Marquez claims title

Marc Marquez clinched the 125cc title with a careful fourth place at Valencia, as Bradley Smith finally took his first win of 2010 in his final race in the category. Needing only an eighth place to put the title beyond rival Nico Terol’s reach, Ajo Derbi rider Marquez sat in third behind Aspar team-mates Smith and Terol for most of the race, after a first-lap shuffle that saw Terol lead for a few metres before running wide and letting Smith escape. Marquez occasionally got alongside Terol to show that he was faster, but preferred not to make a move, and when erstwhile title contender Pol Espargaro (Tuenti Derbi) appeared on their tails on a recovery charge having fallen to 11th at the start, Marquez soon let him through.
