His mother raced late models throughout Southern California while his father built and setup the car.     Jason is 21 years old and was born and raised in Elk Grove. California. A big time NASCAR fan, he hasn’t missed a race on Sunday in years. Lofing is also a huge San Fransisco Giants fan and tries to take in at least a couple games a year. Other than sim racing, his biggest (and far more expensive!) hobby is photography. Although he is rather new to sim racing, Lofing has already accomplished some pretty impressive results, qualifying for the 2011 iRacing Oval Pro Series in Season 1, 2011, winning the inaugural Landon Cassill Qualifying Challenge and finishing runner-up in the second one.

    Tim Terry, aka the voice of Maritime stock car racing, fell in love with sim racing in 2004 after he joined the Sim Racing Network crew as a pit reporter. From October 2004 to SRNtv’s closure in June 2007, he’s covered prestigious races and leagues such as the Online 500, FLM Fall 400, Real Racing Online and the DMP Racing League – each as the lead broadcaster for the company. At the same time the wheels started to turn in another direction as he began announcing stock car racing locally. Terry became the assistant announcer at Scotia Speedworld in May 2007 and took over full duties in May 2009 when long-time voice Mike Kaplan retired from the track. Terry also became the series voice of the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour in ’09 and continues to hold down both posts in 2011. He has also announced races for the Pro All Stars Series, Atlantic Open Wheel and Maritime League of Legends tours and has called races at six different Atlantic Canadian tracks. Terry can be heard online at WebRacingNetwork.com, RLMtv.com and OLRtv.com covering sim races. He also makes occasional appearances on PSRtv.com. Marco Simoncelli’s back-to-back title hopes got a big boost with victory in a shortened 250cc Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island as the other title challengers struck problems. Simoncelli took over at the front after Alex Debon retired from the lead before the end of lap one

De Rosa steals pole from Simoncelli

Raffaele de Rosa snatched pole position for the 250cc class of the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island with a lap at the very end of the session. After rain affected running early in the session, Marco Simoncelli went to the top of the times halfway through, and despite some challenges remained on top almost throughout the rest of the session. With eight minutes remaining Hector Barbera went to the top of the times, but Simoncelli went faster again with three minutes remaining and faster once more with 90 seconds left on the clock

Epp team to run Aoyama in MotoGP

Hiroshi Aoyama is to graduate to MotoGP next season on a satellite Honda run by 125cc and 250cc entrant Daniel M Epp. The 27-year-old Japanese rider currently leads the 250cc championship with three rounds to go, and had long been rumoured to be in line for a MotoGP promotion on an additional customer Honda. Epp’s Emmi Caffe Latte team won the 2005 125cc title with Thomas Luthi and currently runs the Swiss rider in 250cc.

FIM announces Moto2 entry list

The FIM has announced a 39-strong entry list for the inaugural Moto2 championship, which will supplant the 250cc series in 2010. Current MotoGP teams Gresini, Hayate, Pramac, Tech 3 and Scot will run Moto2 arms, with former MotoGP teams Roberts and JiR also securing entries, alongside leading 125cc/250cc squads such as Aspar, Ajo, Balaton and Pons Pepe World.

Hector Barbera has beaten fellow Spaniard Alvaro Bautista to pole positions ahead of the 250cc Portuguese Grand Prix at Valencia. The Pepe Aprilia rider’s best time of 1m40.596s was set five minutes from the end of the 45-minute session, but no one managed to beat it even though the Aspar Aprilia rider came within six hundredths of it. Reigning champion Marco Simoncelli had to be content with third with his Gilera, just three hundredths slower than Bautista, with championship leader Hiroshi Aoyama completing the front row with his Scot Honda

Valentino Rossi has warned that Ben Spies might not be an immediate success when he arrives in MotoGP next season as he feels the current bikes suit 250cc graduates better than Superbike converts. Spies will join Tech 3 Yamaha next season after just one year of World Superbikes. The four times AMA Superbike champion took three victories in his first four races in WSB and is just three points behind championship leader Noriyuki Haga with four rounds left

Honda has confirmed that it has finalised deals for Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso to stay on as its factory riders for the 2010 season. Earlier in the summer the team had taken the unusual step of announcing that it had reached ‘basic agreement’ with its current riders for next year, without giving absolute confirmation that they would stay on. Marco Simoncelli has taken a strong victory in the 250cc Indianapolis Grand Prix to reduce the points gap to championship leader Hiroshi Aoyama. The Gilera rider, who lost one position at the start from third on the grid, took the lead on lap 4 from Matteoni Aprilia’s Jules Cluzel – who made a perfect getaway from fifth to lead at the first corner – and resisted race-long pressure from Aoyama. The two rivals – now separated by 27 points with Alvaro Bautista in the middle – were running close to each other until five laps from the end of the 26-lap race, when a small mistake by the Scot Honda rider allowed Simoncelli to begin opening a small gap that was widened with two consecutive fastest laps by the Italian.
