GP3 will race at Monaco in 2012

The GP3 series will make its first visit to Monaco this year, championship organisers announced on Thursday. The Formula 1 support series has been unable to race on the support bill at the Principality for the past two years, mainly due to issues with finding space for its paddock. GP3 organisers revealed before Christmas that they were working on adding Monaco to the 2012 calendar, and on Thursday its addition was confirmed.
Laine completes Arden’s GP3 line-up

Matias Laine will complete MW Arden’s driver line-up for the upcoming GP3 season, the team has announced. Laine, 21, made his debut in GP3 with the Marussia Manor team last year after having raced in the Formula Renault 2.0 and F3 Euro Series before that.
Caldarelli joins Toyota as junior driver

Toyota has signed single-seater racer Andrea Caldarelli to its sportscar squad as a junior driver for the 2012 season. The Italian, a former member of the Toyota Young Driver Programme (TDP) when the manufacturer competed in Formula 1, will attend rounds of the World Endurance Championship and take part in simulator work to get used to endurance racing.

Rebellion opts for WEC, adds Primat

Rebellion Racing has committed to the new World Endurance Championship for 2012 and announced the signing of ex-Aston Martin driver Harold Primat. The Le Mans Series LMP1 champion team confirmed in November that its Lolas would remain Toyota powered despite the Japanese firm launching its own factory effort, and has now finalised a two-car WEC programme. With the LMS opting to make LMP2 its top class from 2012, Rebellion has chosen to move into the WEC rather than switching to the American Le Mans Series
Corvette shuffles ALMS line-up

Corvette has announced a reshuffled driver line-up for its 2012 American Le Mans Series GT campaign. Jan Magnussen and Oliver Gavin – who finished second in last year’s championship sharing the #4 car – are split up for the new season. GP3 frontrunner Mitch Evans will stay with MW Arden for the 2012 season. The 17-year-old from New Zealand, a protege of Red Bull Formula 1 driver Mark Webber, was a race-winner and briefly led the GP3 championship last year in his first season of European racing, eventually finishing ninth in the standings. “I am really pleased to announce that I will be back with MW Arden in 2012,” said Evans.
Morgan returns to Le Mans with OAK
