    Jason is 21 years old and was born and raised in Elk Grove. California. A big time NASCAR fan, he hasn’t missed a race on Sunday in years. Lofing is also a huge San Fransisco Giants fan and tries to take in at least a couple games a year. Other than sim racing, his biggest (and far more expensive!) hobby is photography. Although he is rather new to sim racing, Lofing has already accomplished some pretty impressive results, qualifying for the 2011 iRacing Oval Pro Series in Season 1, 2011, winning the inaugural Landon Cassill Qualifying Challenge and finishing runner-up in the second one.

    Tim Terry, aka the voice of Maritime stock car racing, fell in love with sim racing in 2004 after he joined the Sim Racing Network crew as a pit reporter. From October 2004 to SRNtv’s closure in June 2007, he’s covered prestigious races and leagues such as the Online 500, FLM Fall 400, Real Racing Online and the DMP Racing League – each as the lead broadcaster for the company. At the same time the wheels started to turn in another direction as he began announcing stock car racing locally. Terry became the assistant announcer at Scotia Speedworld in May 2007 and took over full duties in May 2009 when long-time voice Mike Kaplan retired from the track. Terry also became the series voice of the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour in ’09 and continues to hold down both posts in 2011. He has also announced races for the Pro All Stars Series, Atlantic Open Wheel and Maritime League of Legends tours and has called races at six different Atlantic Canadian tracks. Chevrolet’s Alain Menu topped the timesheets in World Touring Car free practice two at the Slovakia Ring. The Swiss racer, who is chasing a 24-point deficit to team-mate Yvan Muller in the drivers’ standings, recorded a fastest time of 2m13.837s. Reigning world champion Muller finished 0.477 seconds behind Menu in second position

Team Aon’s Tom Chilton says he remains optimistic about the potential of his Arena Motorsport Ford Focus despite a troubled start to the fourth round of the WTCC at the Slovakia Ring. The Briton expressed his optimism over extensive suspension revisions to his Arena Motorsport Ford Focus, and said he had also been buoyed by team-mate James Nash’s competitive showing in third place.

Alain Menu continued Chevrolet’s domination of the 2012 World Touring Car Championship by leading a clean sweep of the podium positions for the RML-run Cruzes in race one at Marrakech. The Swiss led every lap from pole position on way to his second WTCC victory in as many races, following his reversed-grid success at Valencia. Menu was untroubled by an early safety car period and executed a perfect restart to hold off his team-mate Rob Huff by a second at the chequered flag

Gabriele Tarquini will be allowed to start from 12th position in both of Sunday’s World Toruing Car Championship races around the streets of Marrakech, after stewards revised their decision to strip him of his lap times from both parts of qualifying. The Italian’s Lukoil SEAT Leon was found to be underweight in post-qualifying technical checks, leading to the initial penalty. As a result of the revised decision, Tarquini will only lose his Q2 times, where he qualified fifth, and will not now be forced to start from the back of the grid

Swiss veteran Alain Menu claimed his first pole position of the season in an exceptionally closely contested World Touring Car Championship qualifying session in Marrakech. Fresh from a victory in the preceding round at Valencia, Menu denied his RML Chevrolet team-mate Rob Huff pole position by virtue of a last gasp effort, edging Huff from the top spot by just 0.028 seconds at the completion of his final lap.

Alain Menu edged out Chevrolet team-mates Yvan Muller and Rob Huff in an eventful second practice session on the streets of Marrakech. Times tumbled throughout the 30 minutes and the lead changed hands almost as often as the stewards were called into action, made busy by a multitude of spins and track limit violations. With five minutes of the session remaining Muller was the only Chevrolet driver in the top three, sitting third behind the Lukoil SEAT of Gabriele Tarquini and its Tuenti independent sister car of Pepe Oriola

Rob Huff set the fastest time in the World Touring Car Championship’s half hour of testing on the streets of Marrakech on Friday afternoon; Chevrolet’s British driver recording a laptime of 1m46.285s. Huff’s marker was a huge 0.829s faster than his closest challenger; Tom Chilton, who turned in an encouraging performance for the Arena Ford team in a Focus 20kg lighter than previously due to the compensation weight system coming into force for the season in Morocco. “We are running two very different set-ups on each car,” said Arena team manager Alan Cole.

The defending WTCC champion’s time of 1m43.049s was a scant 0.096 seconds faster than the Briton. The SUNRED Engineering SEAT Leons of Tiago Monteiro and Andrea Barlesi will switch to turbocharged petrol engines of the team’s own preparation for this weekend’s World Touring Car Championship round at Valencia. Both Monteiro and Barlesi used 2-litre TDI units at the Monza season opener, and are still planning to switch to the new 2012-spec 1600cc powerplants developed and homologated by SEAT Sport at a later point in the season.

Tom Boardman’s car will be powered by a turbodiesel engine when he makes his first World Touring Car Championship appearance of the season at Valencia next weekend. The Special Tuning Racing driver had planned to run one of SEAT’s new 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol units in Spain, as his team-mate Darryl O’Young did at the Monza season-opener.
