The 37-year-old has a family home and hotel alongside Friday morning’s Mitandersfors stage – a test which starts in Sweden and finishes in Norway
Hirvonen talks up Sweden chances
February 3rd, 2012
Citroen driver Mikko Hirvonen says the French firm’s DS3 WRC is strong enough to end his former team Ford’s stronghold on next week’s Rally Sweden. Hirvonen has won the last two Karlstad-based events in a Ford and you have to go back to Petter Solberg’s Subaru success in 2005 for the last time it wasn’t one of the British-built World Rally Cars on the top step of the podium. Having switched his allegiance to Citroen over the closed season however, Hirvonen says he is ready to ruin the record he helped build

Latvala puts Monte crash behind him
January 24th, 2012
Ford driver Jari-Matti Latvala says he has put his Monte Carlo Rally shunt behind already, with his focus now firmly fixed on next month’s Rally Sweden. He has vowed to move on, however, and focus entirely on the next event in Sweden

The reigning champion looked like he might have a fight on his hands when likely title rival Jari-Matti Latvala used a brilliant tyre choice amid changeable weather on day one to shoot into a half-minute lead. But when Latvala rolled his Ford out of first place late on Wednesday, Loeb’s Citroen was left alone at the front of the field, and he duly pulled away to claim a crushing sixth Monte Carlo win
