Jameson Spies

Jason Lofing
iRacing.com Series WriterJason is 21 years old and was born and raised in Elk Grove. California. A big time NASCAR fan, he hasn’t missed a race on Sunday in years. Lofing is also a huge San Fransisco Giants fan and tries to take in at least a couple games a year. Other than sim racing, his biggest (and far more expensive!) hobby is photography. Although he is rather new to sim racing, Lofing has already accomplished some pretty impressive results, qualifying for the 2011 iRacing Oval Pro Series in Season 1, 2011, winning the inaugural Landon Cassill Qualifying Challenge and finishing runner-up in the second one.
Tim Terry
Contributing WriterTim Terry, aka the voice of Maritime stock car racing, fell in love with sim racing in 2004 after he joined the Sim Racing Network crew as a pit reporter. From October 2004 to SRNtv’s closure in June 2007, he’s covered prestigious races and leagues such as the Online 500, FLM Fall 400, Real Racing Online and the DMP Racing League – each as the lead broadcaster for the company. At the same time the wheels started to turn in another direction as he began announcing stock car racing locally. Terry became the assistant announcer at Scotia Speedworld in May 2007 and took over full duties in May 2009 when long-time voice Mike Kaplan retired from the track. Terry also became the series voice of the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour in ’09 and continues to hold down both posts in 2011. He has also announced races for the Pro All Stars Series, Atlantic Open Wheel and Maritime League of Legends tours and has called races at six different Atlantic Canadian tracks. Allen Krier

Mosley has regrets over China, India

Max Mosley says his main regret when his term as FIA president ends later this year will be that the governing body was unable to develop motorsport further in emerging nations such as China and India.
India is set to join the Formula 1 calendar in 2011, and has had some representation in the world championship via former Jordan driver Narain Karthikeyan and Vijay Mallya’s Force India team, while China has hosted a grand prix since 2004 but has yet to attract significant spectator figures or produce an F1 driver.
When asked by the Evening Standard what he would regret most on reflection, Mosley replied: “not having a Michael Schumacher in China or in India”.
He feels the FIA should have put the grass roots infrastructure in places in those countries first.
“If we had organised karting for young people talent would have emerged,” Mosley said. “Lewis Hamilton started that way, Ayrton Senna was karting at six.
“Motorsport is a middle class sport, not one for impoverished third world countries, but there is a growing middle class in China or India and we could have done more.”
He denied that his defeat over plans for budget caps in F1 earlier this year would also be a source of regreat. Mosley said he was satisfied that his ultimate goal of substantially reducing the cost of competing in F1 would still be achieved via the teams’ own methods.
“Too many teams opposed it,” said Mosley. “In the end we are a democracy. What has happened is teams are going to get to the level of early 90s by the end of 2011, the same sort of issue as the cost cuts.”
