that’s great news for us F1 fans like myself. but is the others race teams going to follow the williams team with there 2009 cars. because GTR2 has had a F1 2009 mod witch is very good by the way from my experience and they have all the cars for 09 witch they were getting updates through the year in 09. so what i want too know is why are the teams of F1 2009 so hesitant about giving up the licenses for there cars, is it a bernie ecclestone problem, doesn’t that guy have enough money . anyway this would be a advantage to F1 drivers who have choosen iracing platform. lewis hamilton and kimi raikonen have been seen on GTR2 before i have raced kimi a couple of times on the GTR2 platform, but i don’t think they know about iracing, if they did and tried it they would be hooked too.

This is really great news. This will keep me a member for much longer.
I’d also like to see some circuits come out slowly to complement this car down the road.

Somebody pinch me. Really looking forward to racing an F1 car in iRacing. Too good to be true. Was excited about the ’79 and it is awesome … just wondering if my 39 year old brain is quick enough for Williams car.

Now that I have had the chance I can proudly say I can race the current years F1 car.

The current brood of F1 fans can experience the same car which they follow on TV. How amazing is that?

Without a doubt this is the biggest announcement iRacing has ever made. NASCAR and IRL affiliation were both big deals because of the name power, but I think bringing a modern F1 car in to the service is the next level because the international appeal of iRacing is going to skyrocket. Hopefully more european tracks are to follow because serious F1 simulation will be a massive membership draw.
