MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — For the first time in NASCAR national series history, four championships in two different series were awarded simultaneously.
Brad Keselowski and Todd Bodine were officially crowned the 2010 driver champions of the NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Monday night on the Americana Ballroom stage at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel.
Keselowski was honored with his first NASCAR national series title as champion of the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Bodine received his second championship ring in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, joining Ron Hornaday, Jr. (four) and Jack Sprague (two) as the only drivers in the series with multiple titles.
Joining them on stage were representatives from the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota team and the No. 18 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota team, who captured owner’s championships in the Nationwide and Truck divisions.
The owner’s title for Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series was the third-straight for the team, while the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series owner crown was the first for Kyle Busch Motorsports.
The champions were joined on stage by the drivers who finished in positions two through five in the standings, along with each series’s Raybestos Rookie of the Year.
Also announced during the banquet were the winners of the Most Popular Driver Award in each series. Keselowski took home the honor for the third-straight year in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, while first-year Truck driver Narain Karthikeyan took the honor in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. was recogonized as the Raybestos Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Nationwide Series while Austin Dillon claimed the honor in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Stenhouse is the fifth rookie winner for team owner Jack Roush.
