TALLADEGA, Ala. — Despite temperatures in the 20s, dirt-late-model ace Shane Clanton led all 50 laps in a race that went without a yellow flag to win Sunday’s Ice Bowl XX at the Talladega Short Track.
Clanton started on the pole and led Dillon Crim the full distance with Crim never more than a few car lengths behind as the pair steadily used the low groove to pass slower cars.
Clanton led to the checkered flag with Crim, Neil Baggett, Ray Cook and Ronnie Johnson completing the top five.
The finish:
Shane Clanton, Dillon Crim, Neil Baggett, Ray Cook, Ronnie Johnson, Ross Martin, Chris Jones, Dwight Falcon, Tim Roszell, David Seibers, Terry Smith, Tim Busha, Stacy Holmes, Hunter Best, Jason Wilson, James Cline, Randall Walker, Todd Morrow, Lamar Scoggins, Lavon Sparks, Anthony White, Kyle Beard, Wendell Wallace, Jeff Smith, Danny Peoples.
