May 8th, 2012
1996 Formula 1 world champion Damon Hill will return to racing for the first time since his final grand prix in 1999 when he contests the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup race on the DTM support bill at Brands Hatch on 18-19 May. Hill will be reunited with a host of his junior racing rivals for the event, with Mark Blundell, Perry McCarthy, Martin Donnelly and Julian Bailey also getting guest drives, along with David Brabham. The first four were nicknamed the ‘rat pack’ as they rose through Formula Ford, Formula 3 and Formula 3000 together in the 1980s, and though Brabham’s career was not quite in parallel, he will be given ‘honorary rat pack status’ for the event.

Red Bull sure it can still improve
November 29th, 2011
Red Bull Racing is in a better position to maintain its dominance of Formula 1 going forward than when it came into its back-to-back title-winning campaigns. That is the view of Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner, who thinks that the challenge of keeping his outfit at the front of the grid in 2012 is made easier because of the progress it has made in the last 12 months. “We know our rivals will not stand still, but what makes this title and retaining the title so special is that the calibre of opponents we are up against is so high,” explained Horner

McLaren shares blame for quali mix-up
October 9th, 2011

Hamilton lost time as Mark Webber and Michael Schumacher dived past him at the chicane after he had backed up to build a gap to Jenson Button ahead of him – and he missed crossing the line before the chequered flag came out. That meant he was unable to prevent Button and Sebastian Vettel moving ahead of him on the grid, and he was deeply disappointed with what happened
