Spain race quotes: Caterham
May 12th, 2013
Charles Pic – 17th: “I’m really happy with today’s performance. Finishing 17th doesn’t really tell the whole story as we ended the race right behind one of the Williams cars which shows that we’ve made some good progress this weekend. The blue flags didn’t help as without them I’d have had a much better chance of overtaking him, but it was still good that I could attack him in the last few laps.

Pastor Maldonado – 14th: “The pace was unfortunately not in the car today. We made one more pitstop than we hoped to because I was given a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pitlane but overall we did the best we could.
Massa still frustrated by penalty
May 12th, 2013
Felipe Massa said his resentment of his Spanish Grand Prix qualifying penalty escalated in the race as he was able to come through from ninth on the grid to third. The Brazilian had qualified sixth, but was demoted three places after being adjudged to have blocked Mark Webber’s Red Bull. “I’m disappointed because of what happened yesterday,” said Massa

Nico Rosberg – 1st: “It’s a great feeling to be on pole again. So far this weekend has been very positive and it’s a pleasure to see that the team is improving and fighting through the problems together.
Massa says he pushed for tyre change
May 9th, 2013
Felipe Massa has revealed he pushed for changes to the hard compound tyre, as he he backed the decision to tweak the rubber ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. Although Red Bull has been vocal about how it feels this year’s tyres are too soft, the Ferrari driver said he had also pushed for changes. The new hard tyre is built to the same construction as the previous one, but with the 2012 compound.
Bahrain practice quotes: Ferrari
April 19th, 2013
Fernando Alonso – 2nd/4th: “It was a positive day and we are reasonably pleased with how the car behaved. We had no major problems and more importantly, we didn’t have to make any radical changes to the F138 to adapt it to this track and its long straights and slow corners, characteristics which I like a lot and usually produce a great show in the race
Raikkonen sees no need to alter tyres
April 18th, 2013
Kimi Raikkonen sees no reason for Pirelli to rethink its approach to Formula 1 tyres, as he dismissed the criticism the Italian firm has received following the degradation issues that characterised the opening rounds of the 2013 season. Red Bull had already been pushing Pirelli to change its compounds even before a Chinese Grand Prix weekend in which the soft tyre proved particularly short-lasting
Chinese qualifying quotes: Ferrari
April 13th, 2013
Fernando Alonso – 3rd: “To end qualifying with both cars in the top five is a result that fills me with hope for the race.
China qualifying quotes: Lotus
April 13th, 2013
Kimi Räikkönen – 2nd: “This is my best qualifying for the team which is good, but of course you always want to be on pole. It’s been quite a tricky weekend so far and we’ve had a few small issues with setup, but it’s always difficult to get things exactly how you want them and the car seems to be working well now.
China practice quotes: McLaren
April 12th, 2013
Jenson Button – 6th/6th: “We can’t yet conclusively tell if the upgrades we brought to this race have improved the car. They’re perhaps not as big a step forward as we’d expected – the issues with the car are still there – but the car does feel a little bit better
Australia race quotes: Ferrari
March 17th, 2013
Fernando Alonso – 2nd: “We can claim to have started this season on the right foot, immediately in the fight with the best. Along with the results from winter testing, it is a very encouraging sign that we managed to get the most out of a weekend that was full of unknown factors, both in qualifying and the race
Massa: strategy gamble helped Alonso
March 17th, 2013
Felipe Massa said it was a strategic gamble from Fernando Alonso that swapped the order of the Ferraris in the Australian Grand Prix , rather than any team favouritism. Massa had outqualified Alonso and was running ahead of his team-mate through the first two stints
Australia race quotes: Caterham
March 17th, 2013
Charles Pic – 16th: “That wasn’t too bad a race for us.
Button: driving style may count for little
February 27th, 2013
Jenson Button fears driving style could make little difference with the 2013 Formula 1 tyres. The McLaren driver, whose smooth style is regarded as especially good for prolonging tyre life, said his initial hopes that he could work some magic with the high-degradation 2013 Pirellis were dashed at the Barcelona test last week. “In Jerez our long runs were very competitive and I thought I could look after the tyres very well, using my style to cope,” he said.
Perez says tyre degradation ‘extreme’
February 20th, 2013
Sergio Perez says the degradation of this year’s Formula 1 tyres is a big concern, admitting he has been surprised by how ‘weak’ the rubber is. McLaren driver Perez developed a reputation for being easy on tyres in 2012, but said the situation was too difficult at the moment
Drivers hint at more pitstops in 2013
February 19th, 2013
Leading Formula 1 drivers are predicting the 2013 season will start with higher tyre degradation and more pitstops than the early races of 2012.
Pirelli: Tyre entertainment vital for F1
January 24th, 2013
Pirelli chairman Marco Tronchetti Provera would be delighted if his company delivers a repeat of the unpredictable racing witnessed at the start of 2012. The wide-open start to last season, featuring seven different winners from the first seven races, drew criticism in some quarters, with the tyres’ behaviour famously described by Michael Schumacher as ‘like driving on raw eggs’
Horner: Brazil most stressful race ever
November 25th, 2012
Red Bull boss Christian Horner labelled the Brazilian Grand Prix as the most stressful race he had experienced in his career.
Ferrari confidence boosted by practice
November 23rd, 2012
Ferrari can head into the Brazilian Grand Prix with a level of confidence about its chances of fighting Red Bull wheel-to-wheel after an encouraging opening day of practice, reckons Felipe Massa. Although Lewis Hamilton topped the times in both practice sessions, Ferrari was boosted by the fact that Massa produced the best long-run form of the day. That result, allied to the fact Massa made a mistake on his fastest lap so could go even quicker over a single lap, has left the Brazilian upbeat about the potential for the season finale
Perez plays down giantkilling chances
October 13th, 2012
Sergio Perez has ruled out one of his giantkilling fightbacks in the Korean Grand Prix after his struggles so far this weekend. The Mexican failed to make it through to Q3 at Yeongam after losing time when he backed off for a yellow flag in the final sector.
