Although Sordo crashed out on day two in Portugal, the accident came when he was right on dominant points leader Sebastien Ogier’s tail in the lead battle. Force India boss Vijay Mallya is confident his team has rectified the issues with its wheelnut system that marred its Malaysian Grand Prix last month. Both Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil were forced to retire from the second race of the season because of problems with the captive wheelnut system the team is using this year. Mallya says the team has had time to understand and correct the problem, and is confident Force India will be able enjoy a strong Chinese Grand Prix this weekend.

Gibbs laments Busch missing Chase
September 11th, 2012
Team owner Joe Gibbs says he shares Kyle Busch’s “agony and defeat” after the 27-year-old failed to make this year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase at Richmond. Busch entered the weekend in prime position to claim the final wildcard entry into the Chase, and was on course to do so for much of the Saturday night race. During what was the final rain interruption of the 400-lap event the wrong strategy wrecked his bid however, meaning he lost out by just three points to Hendrick Motorsports’ Jeff Gordon.

The Frenchman believes that the twisty Hungaroring will play perfectly to the strengths of the team’s E20, which has previously shown strong pace on slow circuits earlier this season. “It can be a good weekend for us and the circuit has similar characteristics to Montreal and Monaco, where we were competing quite well,” said the Frenchman.
Crutchlow regrets late move on Dovizioso
July 8th, 2012
Cal Crutchlow said his mistake five laps from the end of the German Grand Prix was the result of waiting too long to attack Tech 3 Yamaha team-mate Andrea Dovizioso. The Briton spent much of the race tucked up right behind Dovizioso, with the pair often less than one tenth of a second apart. With five laps to go the duo were fourth and fifth, with Yamaha’s Ben Spies also joining the fray in sixth, when Crutchlow ran wide and through the gravel at Turn 1.
