India’s lack of excitement a ‘one-off’
November 1st, 2012
The Indian Grand Prix’s dearth of excitement was a one-off due to a misjudged DRS zone, reckons McLaren technical director Paddy Lowe. Last weekend’s Buddh race was one of the least exciting rounds of what has been a largely entertaining 2012 Formula 1 season. While Red Bull’s domination and the behaviour of the Pirelli tyres has been blamed , Lowe believes if the DRS zone had been positioned differently, fans would still have seen plenty of overtaking
Massa praises "incredible" Alonso
August 31st, 2012
Felipe Massa has paid tribute to Ferrari team-mate Fernando Alonso’s driving, describing his first half of the season as “perfect”.
Ferrari: Alonso driving better than ever
July 23rd, 2012
Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali believes Fernando Alonso is driving better than ever this year, following the Spaniard’s third win of the season in Germany. The double world champion led from start to finish at Hockenheim on Sunday, sustaining relentless pressure from Jenson Button and Sebastian Vettel to take victory. Alonso said afterwards that he didn’t feel the Ferrari F2012 was the fastest car last weekend.
Massa ‘very nearly back to his best’
July 3rd, 2012
Ferrari’s Felipe Massa is a totally different driver now to how he was at the start of the season, and needs just a tiny improvement to be fighting right back at the front of the Formula 1 grid.
Massa: I can be the eighth winner
June 21st, 2012
Felipe Massa has no doubts that he has the potential to become the season’s eighth winner following his improved form in recent races. The Brazilian showed good pace in both Monaco, where he finished a strong sixth, and Canada, where he was 10th after a spin, and believes that he is a contender to take his first victory since his home grand prix in 2008.
Ferrari ‘has regained its self-belief’
June 19th, 2012
Ferrari’s chief designer Nikolas Tombazis says the team’s recent improvement has given its crew the self-belief that they can still win the 2012 Formula 1 world championship. Despite a fraught winter testing period that ended with the Ferrari F2012 a long way off the pace, Fernando Alonso was able to win the Malaysian Grand Prix and since the Spanish GP has been a legitimate victory threat in every race

Ferrari not expecting early podiums
March 4th, 2012
Ferrari technical chief Pat Fry has admitted that at present he does not believe the team is competitive enough to finish on the podium in the Australian Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa have struggled to get consistent frontrunning pace out of the Ferrari F2012, which is a radical departure from the team’s recent designs, in testing
Hembery fears ugly F1 cars a turn-off
February 8th, 2012
Formula 1′s current generation of ‘ugly noses’ could have marketing implications in making it harder for sponsors to sell the sport to the casual fan.
Ferrari has taken more risks with F2012
February 3rd, 2012
Ferrari has confessed to taking more risks with this year’s car than previous cars, after unveiling a fairly aggressive F2012 at Maranello on Friday. Although the most commented-on feature is its stepped nose, the most radical feature is that it is the first car in Formula 1 since Minardi in 2001 to feature front pull-rod suspension. Furthermore, the team has worked hard on its packaging at the sidepods and the rear of the car and try and make the aerodynamic gains it thinks it needs to get ahead of Red Bull Racing.
