Ford duo more relaxed after Rally GB
October 4th, 2012
Ford drivers Jari-Matti Latvala and Petter Solberg say their double podium on Rally GB victory has allowed them to relax more ahead of this week’s Rally de France. Latvala and Solberg dominated the Welsh event for much of the rally and the pair are both hoping the extra speed they found from their Fords on gravel will translate to the Alsatian lanes this week.
Citroen: No team orders in New Zealand
June 22nd, 2012
Citroen team principal Yves Matton has confirmed there will be no team orders for his drivers tonight – leaving Sebastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen free to race through day two of Rally New Zealand. The pair are split by just four seconds, but they are a minute and a half clear of third placed Evgeny Novikov.
Latvala: Ford must seize opportunity
March 30th, 2012
Jari-Matti Latvala says Ford must capitalise on a near-perfect start to the Rally of Portugal. The factory Fiesta RS WRCs ended the opening day first and second, while championship leader Sebastien Loeb rolled out of the rally on SS3 on Thursday night
Loeb crashes out early in Portugal
March 29th, 2012
World Rally Championship leader Sebastien Loeb’s chances of victory in Portugal are already over after the Citroen driver went off the road on the second full-length stage. Ogier still thinks points are possible
September 10th, 2011
Citroen driver Sebastien Ogier believes a top-10 finish is still possible on Rally Australia. The Frenchman retired from the opening day when he damaged the radiator on his DS3 WRC in an accident on the sixth stage. The team fixed the car overnight and he started the second day in 16th position, 11 minutes adrift of 10th-placed Benito Guerra.
Ford urges drivers to keep pushing
August 19th, 2011
Ford technical director Christian Loriaux has urged Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala to push as hard as ever on tomorrow’s second day of Rallye Deutschland in an effort to demonstrate the Fiesta RS WRC’s potential on asphalt. Hirvonen is running third overnight, but the Finn is more than a minute behind leader Sebastien Loeb after being caught on the wrong tyres in the rain on SS2 and then clattering a wall on the fourth stage. Latvala led the event after the opening stage but dropped time with a puncture on SS3 and an engine problem through the afternoon
Ogier crashes out of Mexico lead
March 6th, 2011
Sebastien Loeb is now set for an easy Rally Mexico win after Sebastien Ogier went off the road on the opening stage of the final day. Ogier had been defending a 10.5-second lead over Citroen team-mate Loeb going into today’s decisive three stages, but had to push hard as he was running first on the road
