Renault vows not to neglect 2013

Renault has promised its customer teams that it will not ease off in its efforts with the V8 engines this year, despite the huge work being put in to the new 2014 Formula 1 power units . Kristensen: E-tron saves title hopes

Tom Kristensen reckons Audi’s decision to switch him and Allan McNish to a second e-tron from this weekend’s Bahrain World Endurance Championship race blows the title fight wide open. Audi’s Le Mans winner Marcel Fassler, Benoit Treluyer and Andre Lotterer, who have used the e-tron for most of the year, lead Kristensen and McNish by 7.5 points in the WEC standings with three rounds to go. The Dane and the Scot drove the e-tron at Spa and Le Mans, but switched to the non-hybrid Ultra for Silverstone and Interlagos.

Lorenzo extends Yamaha deal

Jorge Lorenzo will remain with Yamaha until at least 2014 after signing a two-year contract extension with the manufacturer’s MotoGP squad. The 25-year-old Spaniard made his MotoGP debut in 2008 and has spent his entire career in grand prix racing’s top flight with Yamaha. In that time, he has won 20 grands prix, taken the championship in 2010, added 20 pole positions and achieved 49 podium finishes.
Williams optimistic it can stay at front

Williams believes it has the pace to genuinely fight at the front of the Spanish Grand Prix – even though it concedes victory will be hard.
