Frijns, da Costa to test for Red Bull

Antonio Felix da Costa and Robin Frijns will drive for Red Bull during the young driver test at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. Frijns, who was crowned Formula Renault 3.5 champion on Sunday , will get the test as an award for his title.
Di Resta gets five-place grid penalty

Paul di Resta has received a five-place grid penalty at the Italian Grand Prix because of a gearbox change. The Force India driver finished 10th in Belgium last weekend , but his Force India outfit discovered a gearbox problem since then and subsequently replaced it. A statement issued by the FIA said that di Resta would be starting FP3 with a new gearbox, which is a breach of the regulations as the unit has not been used for five events.
Elias joins Pramac for Laguna

Toni Elias will make his MotoGP comeback at this weekend’s United States Grand Prix, deputising for the injured Hector Barbera at the Pramac Ducati squad. Elias, 29, raced for the LCR Honda squad in grand prix racing’s premier category last year, but stepped back down to Moto2, a series he won in 2010, for this year after losing his ride to Stefan Bradl

Charouz to test for HRT in Abu Dhabi

Jan Charouz has become the latest driver to join the Abu Dhabi test line-up, the Czech scheduled to run with HRT. Charouz will take to the track tomorrow morning and then will step aside in the afternoon, when Nathanael Berthon will be driving. Charouz, who is currently one of Renault’s reserve drivers, is also scheduled to test with his team this week

Greaves delighted with LMP2 win

Graves Motorsport duo Tom Kimber-Smith and Olivier Lombard were elated with their performance in Le Mans, after their Zytek-Nissan dominated the LMP2 class to win by more than seven laps. Britain’s Kimber-Smith, who first raced in Le Mans in 2007 with Panoz but hadn’t been back since, insisted the team’s strategy of a low-risk approach to the race had paid dividends.
Hollamby returns to driving seat

British Touring Car team boss Shaun Hollamby will return to the driving seat for the next round at Croft on June 18-19. Hollamby drove for his own AmD Milltek team last season, but stepped aside for Tom Onslow-Cole this season. Onslow-Cole left the team during last weekend’s Oulton Park meeting, to join Arena Motorsport, and Hollamby has now stepped in to race the VW Golf
Costa joins Ferrari Driver Academy

Brazilian Nicola Costa will become the latest driver to join the Ferrari Driver Academy. The 19-year-old from Rio de Janeiro won the Formula Future Fiat championship last weekend and thus will become a part of Ferrari’s training programme for young drivers. The championship, created this season, is backed by Felipe Massa.
Eminem confirmed for Brazil F1 Rocks

Rap star Eminem will play in the ‘F1 Rocks’ concert at the Brazilian Grand Prix in November, event organisers have confirmed. With successful ‘F1 Rocks’ gigs having taken place in Singapore last year, and at Monza last weekend, Eminem is the next star to have been confirmed
