Duval puts Audi on top on test day
June 9th, 2013
Audi driver Loic Duval bounced back from a heavy shunt in the morning to jump to the top of the times right at the end of the Le Mans test day. Duval crashed the #2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro he shares with Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen at Tertre Rouge in the morning session, but completed a lap within a second of last year’s pole mark after the chequered flag had fallen. The Frenchman’s 3m22.583s was nearly three seconds faster than the next best time, set by fellow Audi driver Lucas di Grassi in the #3 entry.

June 8th, 2013
Jules Bianchi – 22nd/19th: “The track conditions were very tricky at the start of FP1 and unfortunately I got caught out on a damp section of the track. I had completed just eight laps, which was very frustrating because this is a new circuit for me and we also had a busy aero programme to get through this morning. I’m pleased that I have been able to recover the ground we lost and happy with how we end this first day of running.

Paul Hembery: “The rain in the morning meant that the drivers didn’t really get to assess the new construction of the rear as thoroughly as they would have liked to, but initial feedback has been positive. We’ll be analysing a lot more data about this new construction over the next few days before drawing a final conclusion, but we don’t expect this to be a massive change. It’s only a minor alteration to ensure that none of the previous delaminations – which do not impact on safety – recur, and it doesn’t affect the fundamental characteristics, performance or durability of the tyre

Kimi Raikkonen – 11th: “We improved the car through the day and by the end of the session it was ok; not ideal but certainly not a disaster either.

Sebastian Vettel – 7th: “It was tricky this morning with the wet weather, but fortunately in the afternoon we had some dry conditions. It was quite slippery, with low grip at the end

Fernando Alonso – 1st: “It was an untypical Friday, affected by the extremely changeable weather.

Daniel Ricciardo – 10th: “In the wet this morning, we didn’t look too bad, even if you always feel you could be quicker.
Latvala into lead after Novikov drama
June 1st, 2013
Jari-Matti Latvala emerged in the Acropolis Rally lead on Saturday morning as Evgeny Novikov lost first place to a puncture. Rising star Novikov had humbled the factory cars on Friday as he established a 30-second lead amid chaos among the pre-rally favourites. But on stage four, Novikov’s M-Sport Ford picked up tyre damage that would also have repercussions for the car’s brakes and suspension.
Tagliani leads chaotic Detroit practice
May 31st, 2013
Alex Tagliani set the fastest time in the only practice session before qualifying for the first of the two IndyCar races at Detroit’s Belle Isle street circuit this weekend.

Fernando Alonso – 6th: “Unfortunately, today did not go a we had hoped, even if we tried our very best. We weren’t as competitive as in the first two free practice sessions on Thursday, but I don’t think we can lay the blame for this step backwards on the cooler temperatures, because the conditions are the same for everyone

Adrian Sutil – 8th: “Very tricky conditions today with the track half wet and half dry. We never knew if it was really drying out or if more rain was coming, so it was important to be on the right tyres at the right time
Monaco practice quotes: McLaren
May 23rd, 2013
Jenson Button – 8th/8th: “We struggled in the morning when the circuit was still fairly ‘green’ – we couldn’t get any temperatures into the tyres, but I think that affected everybody, not just us. “Our pace on a long run looks surprisingly good, although we’re not quite there with our qualifying pace yet. Still, I feel happier with the car here than I have the past few weekends

Pastor Maldonado – 6th/14th: This is one of my favourite circuits on the Formula One calendar.

May 11th, 2013
Fernando Alonso – 5th: “It’s a well known fact that Saturday afternoon is our weak point and fifth place is more or less what we were expecting. We were well aware that Red Bull and Mercedes would both be very strong, but while it’s true we have to start taking back points on Vettel, we are not too scared of Mercedes, who usually have higher tyre degradation. The team and I are optimistic for tomorrow as our race pace isg ood and usually we manage to go better on Sunday

May 11th, 2013
Daniel Ricciardo – 11th : “I was pleased with the way the session went overall, particularly Q2 and I think we got the most we could out of the car. While yesterday was a good day for us, this morning was nowhere near as positive, as I had problems with the balance on the car. So we had to play catch-up and this afternoon we managed to get it right.

May 10th, 2013
Kimi Raikkonen – 8th/4th: “It was a pretty normal Friday. We tried some things on the car, ran with some different tyres and we’ll have a look at all the data to see where we think we are.
Spain practice quotes: Force India
May 10th, 2013
Paul di Resta – 10th/10th: “It was difficult to learn a massive amount today with the wet conditions this morning and our limited running. We had some new parts and both cars were slightly different to allow us to evaluate as much as possible. We will decide tonight the best overall package to carry forward
Spain practice quotes: Ferrari
May 10th, 2013
Fernando Alonso – 1st/2nd: “The signs from today are positive, as we were quick in both the morning and afternoon and the car seems to be well balanced on light and heavy fuel loads.

Jules Bianchi- 18th/20th: “It’s good to be back at Barcelona.

Jenson Button – 22nd/12th: “As with any test of an upgrade package, there are positives and negatives to take away from today. “There’s now a better understanding of the correlation between the track and the windtunnel.
