I was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1988 and moved to Midland, Michigan when I was two years old. I stayed there until third grade when I moved to Farmington Hills, Michigan and now I currently live in Naperville, IL where I'm attending Metea Valley High School as a 9th grader. In the past, I have participated in soccer and this year I plan on joining swimming or water polo. My family includes my 15 year old sister, a 7 year old sister and my mom and dad. I have been writing since 6th grade and have participated in many writing contests in my school and have received several awards for writing.
My fascination for motorsports began when I was nine. The first NASCAR race I watched on TV was the 2009 Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway, won by Kasey Kahne. My favorite NASCAR drivers are Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Jimmie Johnson. I have watched all the races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series since 2010. I currently have three wins on iRacing, two of them in the Nationwide car at Daytona and one in the Street stocks at Charlotte. My favorite car and type of track on iRacing is the Nationwide Series (B Class) car and superspeedways.

I was born in Adelaide and we moved-out for Angle Vale for a few years until I was about 7 years old, when we moved to the Barossa Valley where I live now. I'm 19 years old and currently traveling back and forth weekly as I'm studying for a Diploma of Furniture Design and Technology.

I've always had a love for racing as my close family did some racing and we were always out at the local dirt track. I joined iRacing back in 2010 and slowly but surely got the hang of it as this is my first experience with sim racing and am loving it each time I race. I've won two SK Modified titles (almost had three in a row but finished P2 in 2011 S4), an inRacingNews Challenge championship (2012 S1 Mazda) and was also an AustralAsian Intel GT Series Finalist.

Nathan's passion for motorsport first began in the late 1980s, captivated by the season in which Aryton Senna won his first F1 title with McLaren. Over the years his interest widened to include the British Touring Car Championship, World Rally Championship, NASCAR and various other forms of motorsport. Nathan began sim-racing in the mid 1990s using games developed by Papyrus. He later moved onto SimBim simulations such as GTR, GTR2 and GTR Evolution and has most recently joined the iRacing community.

When he's not working or sim racing, Nathan enjoys spending time and relaxing with his family. Other hobbies include going to festivals, tinkering with his car and doing up his house.

Born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, I have always had a serious passion for cars and motorsports. Hoping one day to become an automotive journalist for a magazine, I constantly crave the exciting competition that comes along with racing and sim-racing. Having participated in a mere test session in a Legends car at Old Dominion Speedway, I have not been able to get into any real-life competition . . . yet.

As a sim racer, my interests date back to "GTR Evolution." My goal is to have fun and win some races. I made it to Oval Pro in 2010, but did not become very successful. I enjoy any mixed road racing competition and love racing the Silverados around almost any track.

    Contributing Writer
Born and raised in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area, Scott Kelly has had a love for motorsports ever since his father did the right thing by introducing auto racing into his life. No longer able to quench his need for speed by spectating NASCAR races on TV and watching dirt track stars slide around local tracks, Kelly eventually picked-up sim racing in his teens, wheeling cars found in Ratbag Games' "Dirt Track Racing" and "World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars" while also becoming introduced into multiple Papyrus sim-racing series. Joining the iRacing ranks in late 2011, Kelly set his sights on the short track racing he was familiar with, focusing on the sprint car, while also driving the Legends and street stock in multiple iRacing.com leagues.

Kelly brings not just his enthusiasm for racing to the highest-rated motorsports simulation, but also his B.A. degree in English; he covers the action seen in the iRacing.com Sprint Car Series, while also placing the spotlight on various leagues within the service. Enjoying his start to a career in motorsports journalism, Kelly also doesn't mind visiting victory lane from time-to-time.

I was born in Florence, South Carolina in 1989 and have lived here my entire life. I've been around racing since I was a young kid watching with my dad on Sundays. In 2009 and found my local track, Florence Motor Speedway and started working for them as a PR guy the same year. At the end of that season, I started writing for RACE22.com, a Late Model Stock Car news site. In 2010, I picked up my first DSLR camera and started shooting races. To this day, I've experienced some of the best races from behind the camera.

I've been with the iRacing service since its public beta in 2008, back when the top oval car was the Late Model. I've been in over 500 races on the service with 70+ wins on both oval and road. My favorite car on the service is the Chevrolet Silverado. Darlington Raceway and Concord Speedway are my favorite tracks simply because everybody hates them.

Mustangs at Mosport Inspire Top Performers

by Jeff Jacobs on April 2nd, 2013

The iRacing Mustang Cup field charges out of Turn One at Mosport.

A week of Mustang Cup racing at Mosport inspired dominating performances by several drivers trying to catch the current points leader and last season’s iRacing.com Mustang Cup champion, Dariusz Bielawski.  By going undefeated in eight races this week, Vedran Broz moved up from eighth to fifth in points overall.  Broz still has points to add, with only seven weeks counted in his total so far.  Bielawski drove his Mustang FR500S to victory in in his only appearance in Week Nine, slightly increasing his lead to 68 points. Second and third place in the standings switched this week with Jaroslaw Grochowski jumping ahead of Todd Honczarenko by 50 points. Patrick Bieri remains fourth after making only one appearance this week and taking a third place in that race.  Although Kevin Ford [...]

Heated Points Battle Atop Mustang Cup

by Jeff Jacobs on March 26th, 2013

Bielawski is looking to repeat as Mustang Cup champion.

With the Mustangs running at a series-favorite Mid-Ohio in Week 8, the points battle heated-up at the top of the standings.  Last season’s iRacing.com Mustang Cup champion, Dariusz Bielawski, has maintained the points the lead every week – with the exception of Week 3 when he temporarily surrendered the top spot to David L Brown.  However, Brown disappeared from the standings as the season continued, leaving a question as to whether anyone had a shot at preventing the Champ from repeating.  Week 8 answered that question, as it now appears a few other sim-racers are turning-in strong mid-season performances to challenge Bielawski for the lead. Cutting Bielawski’s advantage to just 12 points, Todd Honczarenko has charged from eighth after Week 1 to second place after Week 8.  Jaroslaw Grochowski is [...]

Thirty members of the Red Sox Racing League traveled to Canada for the “Strawberry Fields Forever” at Mosport for week five of the 2013 Season One schedule.  Paul Hesla has two wins in 2013, but missed his second start in a row.  Last week Brad Vincent seized the opportunity provided by Hesla’s first DNS to take the win, and it looked as if he would do the same at Mosport.  He sounded confident when speaking with reporters before the race.  “Team VBR was happy to earn the victory last week, but we are expecting it to be the first of many.  The car is dialed in, the crew is primed for action, and I know we will be in the hunt again this week.” Vincent’s pre-race comments were more than [...]

The second round of the Late Model Road Racing World Series will be broadcast live from Mosport on latemodelroad.com this Sunday at 22:30 GMT. Forty drivers are expected to join the action in their Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Late Models. The 4 Km, 10-turn track is known for its fast and flowing layout, short of slow corners, and for featuring some of the thoughest overtaking spots to be found on road racing circuits around the world. Some even claim that Mosport is the fastest road course in North America and that a driver who is fast here will be fast everywhere. No place for slow corners! Coming from a pole and victory at Phillip Island, de Wit leads the championship standings ahead of Maillard and Claridge, with Rasch and Martini [...]

Sharman (1) celebrated his Cadillac Cup title with a hard-fought win over Aiguadé at Infineon Raceway.

Round 12 of the iRacing.com Cadillac Cup and the final stop for the season would see the drivers tackle the challenging Infineon Raceway. It was crunch time for a lot of the regular drivers, as titles where on the line, including the chase for the Division 2 title with Fabian Ventura and James A Cullen battling it out for victory. A total of 78 sim-racers took to the grid for the final round of Season 3 with 62 of them taking part in qualifying and 47 participating in the Time Trials finale. ATS on Top as Ligier and Tyrrell Show Their Hand(s)

The CTC visited historic Brands Hatch in Week 3. Here ? runs wide at Paddock Bend

With 25% of the season gone the Classic Teams Championship (CTC) continues to be exciting and topsy turvy and, with the first round of major driver changes taking place, Ligier and Tyrrell showed good form as ATS raced to the top of the tables. As reported last week, Mark Bird was hotly tipped to take Hulbert’s place in Ligier and indeed the Englishman completed his transfer in time to race at Brands Hatch. Bird’s transfer then triggered the first of many changes this week. Augusto Gabaldoni moved into the Rebaque team and continued his solid season with a good 72 point haul, Stefan Gawol was signed for F2 team Polifac BMW, while Howard McMillion joined March Racing. Gawol responded with a season’s best 59 points while McMillion failed to start [...]

SpecRacer Ford “Graduates” for Season 3

by John Bodin on July 30th, 2012

345
Back to the future: the SpecRacer Ford has its very own series . . . again.

The Season 3 iRacing schedule brings something old back into the fold again as the SpecRacer Ford Challenge series re-emerges as the newest and most affordable series at the D-Class license level. Long-time iRacers may remember the SpecRacer Ford Challenge as the Advanced Rookie series prior to the formation of the current inRacingNews Challenge.  The SpecRacer Ford has been an iRacing staple for years, serving first as the lone Advanced Rookie car in the SpecRacer Ford Challenge series, then later paired with the Pontiac Solstice to form the Advanced Rookie inRacingNews Challenge series. The MX-5 Roadster was added to the inRacingNews Challenge series in late 2011, which made for an interesting three-way multiclass series that ultimately became rather crowded for fans of the smaller and slightly more fragile SpecRacer Ford, [...]

Pickett Racing claimed a fourth straight victory in the American Le Mans Series as Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr commanded the Mosport Park round in their HPD. Bar a penalty for having too many personnel over the wall at a pitstop, it was plain sailing for the Pickett team, with Luhr and Graf winning by 10 seconds over Chris Dyson and Guy Smith’s Dyson Lola-Mazda

Mosport attracted a bumper crop of entries, new and familiar, the the Classic Teams Championship.

Teams Championship Goes Down to the Wire ROUND 10,  MOSPORT, CANADA It was boom times for The Classic Teams Championship in Canada. The series is currently growing faster than it ever has before with nine new drivers signing-up and two new teams taking to the track over the past seven days. But up the front it was business as usual for all of the sim-racers as, while Gernot Fritsche is odds on favourite for the title, there is plenty to fight for throughout the championship. The teams championship is wide open and crucial battles around the 40th place remain as drivers battle hard for their places in a plum seat with a Formula 1 world championship team. A Radical start to the season…

by Katier Scott on November 8th, 2011

Challenging cars, close racing and a sense of comaradarie saw the Radical Racing Challenge attract lots of iRacers to Watkins Glen.

One week into 2011 Season4 of the Radical Racing Challenge and jaws are having to be scraped off virtual cockpit floors as sights, not seen before, surprised series regulars.  Last season bore witness to the second highest number of drivers ever in the series, but this season, opening at the popular Watkins Glen circuit has seen participation records being utterly destroyed. Just the first weekend of racing saw five successive split races in the first 24 hours with 187 drivers, numbers that grew to a total of 291 drivers in 15 online races and splits by the end of the Week 1 — an increase of more than 100 drivers over last season’s visit to the Glen and an average of nearly 19.5 cars per race. Last season many sim [...]

After watching three different drivers take top spot in the first three events of the Red Sox Racing League’s 2011 Season 3 schedule, defending league champion Les Turner returned to winning form when the series visited his favorite track for the “Fall Festival F1 GP at Mosport”.  Mosport has always been a great home track for the talented Canadian and this week was no different.  Turner has always been fast and clean at the hilly road course located in Bowmanville, Ontario Canada.  Mosport’s 2.45 mile layout includes several severe elevation changes and ten corners with varying degrees of difficulty.  Repaved in 2003, the track was widened to allow for more side-by-side racing and additional passing zones for the daring.  The track has hosted a variety of series since racing began [...]

Season Two of the Red Sox Racing League’s 2011 calendar has been a roller coaster ride for fans and drivers alike.  After two races which saw new comers Justin Kirby and Brian Irby outpacing league veterans for wins at Spa and Watkins Glen, the season’s championship point race was as tight as anyone could remember in years. Week Three of the season saw sixteen drivers traveling to Canada for the “Panoz 36” race at the Mosport International Raceway.  The track is an exciting venue with a history of providing close races in past RSR events.  The incredibly fast 2.459 mile, ten corner track layout ensures high speeds and forces drivers to pick their passing spots with care. Mosport is the home track for defending four time league champion, Les Turner.  [...]

The Champion Motorsports 2011 Mustang Challenge is off to an excellent start, having just completed the third of twelve online races on some of the most famous road course circuits from around the world.  The Mustangs are proving to be one of the most popular series yet run at Champion, with some very close and exciting racing throughout the field. The first race of the season kicked off at Watkins Glen and saw Champion Motorsports newcomer Wayne Funston win an exciting race.  Devin Obrien would qualify on pole for the event with Funston starting alongside on the front row. Obrien got a great start and led the first six laps of the race, but Funston was in close pursuit and looking for the opportunity to make the move. It would [...]

Kersey Steals the Victory in Georgia

Kersey Steals the Victory in Georgia

Darren Kersey, a past champion of the Red Sox Racing league, arrived at Road Atlanta with a chip on his shoulder.  Early successes in the Season 3 schedule had him riding high in the points battle, but a missed online race (Homestead), and back to back poor finishes (17th at Mosport and 23rd in Las Vegas), saw the proud Midwestern sim racer falling out of contention as newcomers to the league secured a choke hold on the top spots. Kersey’s goal in Georgia: Remind RSR drivers he still had enough talent to challenge for the win each week.  The humble but determined driver did just that as he took advantage of a late race mistake by Les Turner to take the lead and the win.  The Atlanta victory vaulted Kersey [...]

Turner Doubles-up at Homestead

In a streak of extremely competitive online races which illustrated the depth of skill on display each week during the first five events of the 2010 Season 3 schedule, five different drivers in the Red Sox Racing League made their way to Victory Lane.  Further evidence of the hard fought battles being waged in RSR races each week was the fact that defending points champion Les Turner did not get a win until Week Five. Turner took advantage of his Week Five momentum to hold-off a talented field of sim racers en route to a second consecutive win in the “I thought this was an Oval Grand Prix” at the Homestead-Miami Speedway’s Road Course B in Florida this week. The Homestead Road B configuration is a challenging 11 corner, 2.3 [...]

Williams Takes First Win in Fanatec.de GT3 RS 300

After a two week mid-season break the SSCA Team Challenge series headed to famed Watkins Glen for its second 300 miles event, the Fanatec.de GT3 RS 300.  Given the carnage at the past two events at Brands Hatch (where Marcus Saari won both sprint races for My3id) and Mosport (where only four cars managed to cross the line and vApex took a surprise win), drivers were warned to keep it on track and to give each other more room. Darin Gangi, series admin, gave an inspired pre-race speech to try and reign in the aggressive driving the series has exhibited of late. It must have worked, as the 300 mile race went off without a single incident. The race saw David Williams (My3id) lead and win over an unshakable Danny [...]
