Formula 1 world championship leader Sebastian Vettel believes it is unreasonable for his critics to attribute much of his success to Red Bull’s car advantage. Vettel is on the brink of claiming a third successive title in Brazil this weekend. He took four wins in a row from the Singapore to Indian Grands Prix as he caught up and overhauled points leader Fernando Alonso, whose Ferrari has been less competitive than the Red Bull for most of the 2012 season.

May 13th, 2012
Lewis Hamilton believes that he has proved his doubters wrong after making only two stops during the race at Barcelona. Hamilton started at the back of the field after being penalised for running short of fuel at the end of qualifying and was forced to try a different strategy than the rest of the drivers, eventually climbing to eighth, one place ahead of team-mate Jenson Button

April 6th, 2012
Labour MP Richard Burden has joined calls for the Bahrain Grand Prix to be cancelled, amid fresh concerns about the ongoing political trouble in the Gulf island state. Former world champion Damon Hill said this week that the FIA should rethink the hosting of the Sakhir race amid the continued unrest in the kingdom. Burden, who under the last government was a special advisor to the Minister of Sport, Richard Caborn, on motorsport, has backed Hill’s view

Stewart: Schumacher went too far
September 23rd, 2011

Webber: I’ll finish career at Red Bull
March 3rd, 2011
Mark Webber thinks he will see out his Formula 1 career at Red Bull Racing – after making it clear that he is fully focused on a long-term future with the reigning champions. During a sometimes tumultuous 2010 campaign, there was widespread speculation that the Australian could choose to turn his back on the sport. However, speaking ahead of the new season, a fired up Webber said there was no reason for him not to look at extending his spell in F1 – and that meant staying with Red Bull Racing.
Q and A: Rosberg on new Mercedes
February 1st, 2011
Nico Rosberg bolstered his reputation by overshadowing legendary team-mate Michael Schumacher at Mercedes last year, and hopes to maintain that advantage in 2011. Despite some early teething troubles, he was in a very positive mood when he stepped out of the new W02 after his first test this morning, and AUTOSPORT was there to hear his thoughts about the new car, Schumacher, and the 2011 rules.
Rosberg convinced he will win in 2011
January 6th, 2011
Nico Rosberg expects to be winning races in Formula 1 this year, with his Mercedes GP team quietly confident about the progress it is making with its 2011 contender. The German had high hopes about taking a maiden grand prix victory with his new team last year, but the 2010 Mercedes was no match for the front-running Red Bull Racing, McLaren and Ferrari cars, and the team stopped developing it mid-season

Dovizioso confident of fighting for win
October 2nd, 2010
Andrea Dovizioso is confident that he can turn his first MotoGP pole position into a shot at a second career win in tomorrow’s Japanese Grand Prix. Left to represent the factory Honda team alone at its home race after his team-mate Dani Pedrosa broke his collarbone in a practice crash yesterday, Dovizioso held off strong challenges from Casey Stoner and the Yamahas to take the top spot in qualifying. Given that his reputation is normally for a low-key practice and qualifying performance then a much stronger pace in the race, Dovizioso believes he can be a real force on Sunday having shown this rare speed in qualifying.

September 21st, 2010
Carlin is confident it will be competitive right from the start after securing a slot to be on the GP2 grid from next season. Eleven of the current Formula 1 drivers have driven for Carlin in the past, including Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg

October 18th, 2009
Former Renault boss Flavio Briatore will begin his fightback against a lifetime ban from motor racing on Monday when he takes the matter to the French courts. Briatore is set to lodge papers at the Tribunal de Grand Instance in Paris to try and cancel the lifetime ban that was handed to him by the FIA as the result of his involvement in Renault’s race-fix controversy at last year’s Singapore Grand Prix. In a statement issued on Sunday, Briatore stated that he believes the FIA had acted incorrectly in the way it dealt with its hearing into the race-fix case, and the punishment handed down
