Massa climbs up in Castrol Rankings
July 26th, 2010
Felipe Massa may not have won the German Grand Prix, but the Ferrari driver was still the biggest gainer in the Castrol Rankings top 100 this week.
The Brazilian led more laps than anyone else at Hockenheim and, even after allowing his team-mate Fernando Alonso passed him, was able to finish second.
Dixon awarded controversial win
July 26th, 2010
Scott Dixon was awarded victory at Edmonton after Helio Castroneves had the win taken away, having been adjudged to have blocked his team-mate Will Power. Castroneves crossed the line first, having snatched the lead from Power late on. But the chequered flag was held back for Dixon, who had also slipped past Power, as the officials stopped scoring Castroneves on the final lap as a punishment for an allegedly illegal defensive move, dropping him to 10th
Power scores another Edmonton pole
July 24th, 2010
IndyCar championship leader Will Power set himself up for a repeat of his dominant 2009 Edmonton victory by topping qualifying at the Canadian airport track. There was no stopping the Australian in the session, which remained dry despite storm warnings and some extremely foreboding black clouds over the circuit.
Penske blitzes final Edmonton session
July 24th, 2010
Helio Castroneves led the way in another Penske clean sweep in final free practice session before IndyCar qualifying at Edmonton. The Brazilian took first place ahead of championship leader and Friday pacesetter Will Power, who he had deposed with a 1m01.9802s lap just over halfway through the morning. Both improved during a final minute burst following a late yellow, but Castroneves was able to maintain his lead with a time of 1m01.6642s, ahead of Power and Penske’s third driver Ryan Briscoe as the team filled the top three positions for a second straight session

Notes: Patrick Finishes Strong Sixth
July 20th, 2010
TORONTO — Few drivers in the IZOD IndyCar Series needed a better finish than Danica Patrick. Despite her star-power as the most visible driver in IndyCar and her attempt at competing in a limited NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule, this has been a frustrating season for the female race driver.
Rankings: Alonso climbs into top 10
July 19th, 2010
Fernando Alonso took advantage of some dismal results for IndyCar men Ryan Briscoe and Scott Dixon to move into the top 10 of the Castrol Rankings for the first time. Briscoe finished two laps down at the Canadian street circuit after being spun out of the top six by Graham Rahal, while Dixon retired after a collision with Ryan Hunter-Reay.

July 17th, 2010
Justin Wilson will go into Toronto qualifying among the favourites for pole after a superb performance in final practice this morning.
Rankings: Franchitti set to lose ground
July 16th, 2010
Only a victory at Toronto this weekend will prevent IndyCar Champion Dario Franchitti from losing ground in the Castrol Rankings. The British driver started from pole at Toronto last year and led more than half the race on his way to a dominant victory. Because of that, he is defending a near-perfect score from the 2009 event

One-twos for iRacers
by David Phillips on July 6th, 2010
The calendar may have said it was the 4th of July, but it was a weekend of one-twos for iRacers. Friday night saw Dale Earnhardt Jr. score the 23rd win NASCAR Nationwide Series win of his career at Daytona International Speedway ahead of fellow iRacer Joey Logano. Making Earnhardt’s win all the more special was the fact that his winning Chevrolet was done-up in a retro-Wrangler livery, complete with the #3 made famous by his late father. Earnhardt went on to finish fourth in Saturday night’s Coke Zero 400 race to move into eleventh spot in the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings and join fellow iRacing member Jimmie Johnson among the dozen drivers currently heading the race for the Chase. Then on Sunday iRacers Will Power and Ryan Briscoe scored a [...]
