February 28th, 2012
Nicky Hayden felt his 2012 season could get underway properly in Sepang testing on Tuesday, as his shoulder held up well following recent surgery. Hayden sidelined by shoulder pain
February 1st, 2012
Nicky Hayden could only manage 16 laps of running on the second day of MotoGP winter testing at Sepang today before pain from his injured shoulder forced the Ducati rider to pull out. The American broke his left scapula and fractured two ribs when he fell while training shortly after Christmas. Although he managed 33 laps on the opening day of testing yesterday, today proved harder still

Pedrosa: Fitness promising so far
April 30th, 2011
Dani Pedrosa said his fitness was better than he expected after securing third on the Portuguese Grand Prix grid, making him the fastest of the three factory Honda riders in qualifying. The Spaniard has undergone surgery in recent weeks to remove a plate from his collarbone after issues with a loss of feeling in his arms during races. Though he is still healing after the operation, Pedrosa said so far this weekend he had been pleased with how he was coping – although he admitted that the real test would come in tomorrow’s race.
Rossi pleased with improved fitness

Valentino Rossi believes he has taken another step forward in fitness between the Spanish and Portuguese Grands Prix, having finished Friday practice at Estoril today fourth fastest. With the postponement of the Japanese GP following last month’s natural disasters in the nation, there has been a near-month-long gap in the MotoGP schedule, and Rossi felt he was riding more naturally when the series resumed today that at any time since he damaged his shoulder in a Motocross crash a year ago. “I’m pretty satisfied with how the day went,” he said

Rossi says shoulder still a big factor
March 20th, 2011
Valentino Rossi said continued pain from the shoulder he injured last year was a bigger factor than bike performance in his low-key seventh place finish in his first race with Ducati in Qatar. The seven-time MotoGP champion was unable to get his Ducati career off to a dream beginning – although he did fly through from ninth on the grid to briefly hold second at the first corner. He reckoned fighting for fourth would have been possible, though he suspects he would have fallen back to seventh when his shoulder got weaker whatever happened.
