Jason is 21 years old and was born and raised in Elk Grove. California. A big time NASCAR fan, he hasn’t missed a race on Sunday in years. Lofing is also a huge San Fransisco Giants fan and tries to take in at least a couple games a year. Other than sim racing, his biggest (and far more expensive!) hobby is photography. Although he is rather new to sim racing, Lofing has already accomplished some pretty impressive results, qualifying for the 2011 iRacing Oval Pro Series in Season 1, 2011, winning the inaugural Landon Cassill Qualifying Challenge and finishing runner-up in the second one.

I was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1988 and moved to Midland, Michigan when I was two years old. I stayed there until third grade when I moved to Farmington Hills, Michigan and now I currently live in Naperville, IL where I'm attending Metea Valley High School as a 9th grader. In the past, I have participated in soccer and this year I plan on joining swimming or water polo. My family includes my 15 year old sister, a 7 year old sister and my mom and dad. I have been writing since 6th grade and have participated in many writing contests in my school and have received several awards for writing.
My fascination for motorsports began when I was nine. The first NASCAR race I watched on TV was the 2009 Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway, won by Kasey Kahne. My favorite NASCAR drivers are Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Jimmie Johnson. I have watched all the races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series since 2010. I currently have three wins on iRacing, two of them in the Nationwide car at Daytona and one in the Street stocks at Charlotte. My favorite car and type of track on iRacing is the Nationwide Series (B Class) car and superspeedways.

I was born in Adelaide and we moved-out for Angle Vale for a few years until I was about 7 years old, when we moved to the Barossa Valley where I live now. I'm 19 years old and currently traveling back and forth weekly as I'm studying for a Diploma of Furniture Design and Technology.

I've always had a love for racing as my close family did some racing and we were always out at the local dirt track. I joined iRacing back in 2010 and slowly but surely got the hang of it as this is my first experience with sim racing and am loving it each time I race. I've won two SK Modified titles (almost had three in a row but finished P2 in 2011 S4), an inRacingNews Challenge championship (2012 S1 Mazda) and was also an AustralAsian Intel GT Series Finalist.

Nathan's passion for motorsport first began in the late 1980s, captivated by the season in which Aryton Senna won his first F1 title with McLaren. Over the years his interest widened to include the British Touring Car Championship, World Rally Championship, NASCAR and various other forms of motorsport. Nathan began sim-racing in the mid 1990s using games developed by Papyrus. He later moved onto SimBim simulations such as GTR, GTR2 and GTR Evolution and has most recently joined the iRacing community.

When he's not working or sim racing, Nathan enjoys spending time and relaxing with his family. Other hobbies include going to festivals, tinkering with his car and doing up his house.

Born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, I have always had a serious passion for cars and motorsports. Hoping one day to become an automotive journalist for a magazine, I constantly crave the exciting competition that comes along with racing and sim-racing. Having participated in a mere test session in a Legends car at Old Dominion Speedway, I have not been able to get into any real-life competition . . . yet.

As a sim racer, my interests date back to "GTR Evolution." My goal is to have fun and win some races. I made it to Oval Pro in 2010, but did not become very successful. I enjoy any mixed road racing competition and love racing the Silverados around almost any track.

Born and raised in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area, Scott Kelly has had a love for motorsports ever since his father did the right thing by introducing auto racing into his life. No longer able to quench his need for speed by spectating NASCAR races on TV and watching dirt track stars slide around local tracks, Kelly eventually picked-up sim racing in his teens, wheeling cars found in Ratbag Games' "Dirt Track Racing" and "World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars" while also becoming introduced into multiple Papyrus sim-racing series. Joining the iRacing ranks in late 2011, Kelly set his sights on the short track racing he was familiar with, focusing on the sprint car, while also driving the Legends and street stock in multiple iRacing.com leagues.

Kelly brings not just his enthusiasm for racing to the highest-rated motorsports simulation, but also his B.A. degree in English; he covers the action seen in the iRacing.com Sprint Car Series, while also placing the spotlight on various leagues within the service. Enjoying his start to a career in motorsports journalism, Kelly also doesn't mind visiting victory lane from time-to-time.

I was born in Florence, South Carolina in 1989 and have lived here my entire life. I've been around racing since I was a young kid watching with my dad on Sundays. In 2009 and found my local track, Florence Motor Speedway and started working for them as a PR guy the same year. At the end of that season, I started writing for RACE22.com, a Late Model Stock Car news site. In 2010, I picked up my first DSLR camera and started shooting races. To this day, I've experienced some of the best races from behind the camera.

I've been with the iRacing service since its public beta in 2008, back when the top oval car was the Late Model. I've been in over 500 races on the service with 70+ wins on both oval and road. My favorite car on the service is the Chevrolet Silverado. Darlington Raceway and Concord Speedway are my favorite tracks simply because everybody hates them.

Huttu Brings it at Sebring

by Chris Hall on May 14th, 2013

218
Huttu dives under Kronke to take a lead he would hold to the finish to earn his fourth win of the season.

In an action-packed Round Six of the iRacing.com World Championship Grand Prix Series, Greger Huttu claimed victory at Sebring International Raceway to further extend his lead at the top of the standings. Huttu’s fourth win of the year sees his bid to retain the world title move another step closer, with a third of the 2013 season remaining. Starting second on the grid, alongside pole-sitter Martin Krönke, Team Redline’s Huttu was able to avoid a start-line incident that embroiled several mid-field runners. Spinning his wheels at the start, Mogar Filho’s virtual Williams-Toyota FW31 headed right, bounced off the pit wall and turned perpendicular into traffic. This put the Brazilian in the paths of Teemu Iivonen, Jason Lovett, and Pierre Urbizu, who collided with the Radicals Racing car in spectacular fashion. [...]

Show ‘Em What You’ve Got

by David Phillips on May 13th, 2013

So far, only four drivers have visited the Winners Circle in the 2013 NiSWC . . . and Ottinger has back-to-back wins to his credit.

Heading to Darlington Raceway on Tuesday, the 2013 NASCAR iRacing.com Series World Championship is off to a hectic start.  Series leaders Tyler D Hudson and Brian Schoenburg are still looking for their first wins; likewise two-time defending champion Ray Alfalla, who has clawed his way back into the reckoning after opening the campaign with 42nd and 36th place finishes in two of the first three events.  Meanwhile, Daytona winner Adam Gilliland finds himself P8 . . . three better than Phoenix winner (and 2012 championship runner-up) Michael Conti, who failed to qualify for the season opener. All the more remarkable, then, that just five races into the young season Nick Ottinger already has a pair of wins to his credit, with back-to-back triumphs at Texas Motor Speedway and Richmond International [...]

Moreira Takes Surprise CTC Lead

by Katier Scott on May 10th, 2013

107
The 2013 S2 Classic Teams Championship got off and running at Silverstone.

Fittipaldi driver Nuno Moreira opened the 2013 S2 Classic Teams Championship with an excellent performance that placed the veteran sim-racer atop the championship. Several pre-season favourites and leading runners were absent as the season opened with 136 drivers visiting the classic Northamptonshire venue of Silverstone.  Running the Silverstone Historical layout 12 drivers registered race wins, with Season One champion, now running as a guest driver, Nicklas Lindqvist, taking three wins in as many starts in is Lotus 79. Two drivers registered pairs of wins, from pairs of starts with Steve Kasimatis outscoring Williams driver, James Hand by 41 points. One other driver was a double winner during the course of the week, but Jacek Madejski had to start his Hesketh five times in order to take his duo of victories. [...]

KIA and Cadillac Gear-Up For Explosive Series Debut

by Jonathan Wimbush on April 29th, 2013

504
The Global Challenge features the new KIA Optima and the Cadillac CTS-V in iRacing's newest mixed class racing series.

There is an air of excitement and anticipation this week around the iRacing community as Week 13 of Season 1 draws to a close. Season 2 is just around the corner, and one of the series that has many drivers stirring is the new iRacing Global Challenge Series. This series will feature the brand new KIA Optima in a multiclass field with the Cadillac CTS-V, which can still be considered one of the newer cars featured on the iRacing service. Week 1 is set to begin at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (the recently renamed Mosport), and many drivers are already on the track tweaking setups to find as much speed as possible before the season kicks-off. I had the opportunity to talk to some of the drivers scheduled to run [...]

iRNC 2013 Season 1 Championships Decided at Laguna Seca

by Joe Pisciotta, Jr. on April 25th, 2013

online racing

The inRacingNews Challenge Series finished 2013 Season 1 at Mazda Laguna Seca in Week 12.  Laguna regulars can attest that this slick track is especially challenging at the left hand kink into “Rahal Straight.”  This is the second time the multi-class series has visited Laguna Seca in Season 1.  The 14 laps of online racing here had championship implications in several divisions in both classes. Pontiac Solstice Christoph Schön (DE-AT-CH) continued his season dominance this week with the fastest qualifying time in Solstice (1:41.317). Schön scored 198 points in his Laguna win and a point total of 1411 secured the 2013 Season 1 Solstice Championship.  Chris Hughson (New York) qualified fifth this week at 1:41.988. Hughson won 11 races (slow week) at Laguna and his 255 point win is tops [...]

Goke Delivers at Michigan

by Will Vincent on April 22nd, 2013

racing games

The last 30 laps of the 2013 ISOWC Michigan 400 lived up to reputation, by delivering it all. Excitement, confusion, drama, and high emotions. Who could expect less from the track where over the two years previous, no driver could be certain of their finishing position until the last corner of the last lap? The first 345 miles of the 400 mile race went without caution, beating the series record of 309.8 miles set in 2012 at Twin Ring Motegi, and becoming only the third race in series history to go green for more than 300 miles. To say that it wasn’t eventful however would be a lie, as drivers had to get the job done over three rounds of pit stops, separating and bringing the field together over numerous [...]

Majeski Comes Out in Front at the Langley Derby

by Ray Kingsbury on April 22nd, 2013

79
The LM action was fast and furious at Langley and Week 12 at figures to bring more of the same.

Langley Speedway is and always has been a race track. However, at an early point in its existence the Speedway was known as Dude Ranch and was a horse racing track. It was eventually paved-over and became the starting points for great NASCAR drivers such as Denny Hamlin. The four turned, slightly asymmetrical oval which includes only 6 degrees of banking would be a perfect test of endurance for the NASCAR iRacing.com Late Model Series. The sim-racer who could best manage their front tires would come out in front of this derby of a whole ‘nother beast. In this week’s 3120 Strength of Field race nine cars battled for this week’s top spot. However the man, the myth, the legend, Ty Majeski once again came out on top. Majeski took [...]

Mustang Intensity at Daytona

by Jeff Jacobs on April 16th, 2013

100
This last-lap battle for second to fifth place was decided by one second among Gennadiy Titov (2), Adam Massey (1), Jack Hinchman (4), and Panji Brotoisworo (3).

Eleven weeks of close racing reached a new high point at Daytona as the iRacing.com Mustang Cup drivers battled for every possible point.  Something about racing at Daytona – the history, the high banking, the challenge of never quite mastering it – brings out the intensity in every sim-racer on the grid.  Combine that intensity with a dozen or more pony cars in formation and there will be fireworks! Week 11 featured some incredible finishes demonstrating the competitiveness of this series.  With 36 official races on the week, twelve of the races…that’s 33%…were decided by less than a half-second.  Not impressed? How about seven races won by less than a tenth, six of those less than half-a-tenth!  And for two of those races, the third place car was just thousands [...]

GT Competition in the Empire State

by Austin Hartenfels on April 15th, 2013

racing games

The iRacing servers during Week 10 did not lack great online racing. However, one of the highlights throughout the week was the incredible side-by-side action put-on by Touring Cars at a familiar venue: Watkins Glen International. The 2.4 mile “Classic” circuit is an incredible example of what American racetracks have to offer. The iRacing.com Grand Touring Cup has been to a few racetracks in the US during its scheduled Twelve week season so far, but this will be the last for 2013 Season One as the Mazdas, Volkswagens and Pontiacs head back to Europe and Asia for the remainder of the season. Michael Booth2 (Celtic) with 187 points and Duncan Coppedge (Northwest) with 182 points finished first and second for the week in their Pontiac Solstices while Andrey Loginov (Central-Eastern [...]

Fritsche Back on Top

by Katier Scott on April 8th, 2013

62
The roller coaster known as Sonoma Raceway challenged the CTC drivers in Week Eight.

Lingqvist’s Lead Nearly Unassailable; Lotus Likely Champions Sonoma Raceway and Mosport Park represent two completely different tracks with the former being an undulating track with wide range of corners through dusty hills, while the latter is a classic ex-Formula 1 venue steeped in history and full of flowing corners.  Together, they posed quite a back-to-back challenge in Weeks Eight and Nine of the 2013 Season One Classic Teams Championship. At Infineon, Lindqvist continued on his way with another excellent result but in second place was erstwhile multiple champion, Gernot Fritsche. After several poor scores, Fritsche showed a major sign of improvement to take second place in the week ahead of Brabham’s Luca Zanetti. As the field moved to Mosport the championship leader was conspicuous by his absence and Fristche took [...]

Buie Shows his Legs at Oxford

by Ray Kingsbury on April 7th, 2013

Buie Shows his Legs at Oxford

Week Nine of the NASCAR iRacing.com National Series visited the unique short track located in Oxford, Maine, none other than Oxford Plains Speedway. Oxford Plains is not your typical oval course. Though it has four turns, the track is more of a circle than an oval. The wide line required to keep maximum speed at this circuit would take a toll on tires as even the “straightaway” has a distinct line that requires the driver to keep his car turning left. The turns and straightaway both include nine degrees of banking and the track is just 0.375 miles long. This week’s 2336 Strength of Field race was one that Brandon Buie will never forget, thanks to the facts that he managed to claim the pole position as well as sweep [...]

Down Dominates at the Island

by Dylan Sharman on April 5th, 2013

134
Down drove to a flag-to-flag win to regain take the V8 points lead.

Round Nine of the iRacing.com V8 Supercars Series headed back to Australia and Phillip Island to start the run home with the series now into the final month of racing and into the drop rounds. Justin Ruggier took over the championship lead last round with Madison Down now in second place.  Joshua Muggleton has been absent the past week and will not race in this round either so he has fallen back into fourth behind Vail Riches but is not out of the championship picture. Qualifying was led by the five time champion Down, who took pole position after being the only sim-racer to break into the 90 second bracket with a blazing 1:30.979. Ruggier would start from position two with a 1:31.044 while Riches and Brad Ryan were .020s [...]

Luis Takes Slender Suzuka Victory

by Chris Hall on April 3rd, 2013

181
Luis eaked-out a slim victory over Huttu at Suzuka for his second win of the season.

In a closely-fought 53 laps around the virtual Suzuka Grand Prix Circuit, Hugo Luis claimed his second victory of the 2013 iRacing.com World Championship Grand Prix Series and extended his lead in the points table. Although the Brazilian had seized pole position with a lap time of 1:30.448, once the green flag dropped he found himself chasing his My3id team-mate, the fast-starting Martin Krönke. Luis followed in Krönke’s wake for the ensuing 23 laps, until the German headed to pit-lane to make his stop for fuel and tyres. As a result of Kronke’s slow out-lap, when Luis and Greger Huttu took to pit lane for their service a few laps later, his front-running position had become third. “The start of the race obviously wasn’t far from perfect for me and [...]

iRacer Profile: Dave Judson

by David Phillips on March 30th, 2013

racing games

It’s easy enough to think of Dave Judson as an IndyCar sim-racer.  After all, he twice finished runner-up in the Division 2 standings of the iRacing.com IZDOD IndyCar Series – Oval (Fixed-Setup)  in 2012, and in the top five in both the open and fixed setup IndyCar oval series in 2012 Season 3.  And, with eight wins to his credit do far, 2013 S1 finds him trailing only friend/rival Tim Doyle in the IndyCar Oval (fixed) standings . . . and with four wins in the books so far, he’s P3 in the open setup IndyCars behind Martin Miller2 and Terry Matthiensen. But pigeonholing the Mentor, Ohio native as “just” an IndyCar driver, would sell him short.  Judson has earned a couple of Dayton Prototype class wins in the iRacing.com [...]

Salminen Closes on Podium; Lotus Stretch Lead

by Katier Scott on March 26th, 2013

106
The brilliant (virtual) sunshine of Zolder fell on the CTC in Week Seven.

For Round Seven of the Lotus Classic Teams Championship the field remained in Belgium, moving from the classic Spa circuit to the confines of Circuit Zolder. Most famous as the venue where the legendary Gilles Villeneuve lost his life, this circuit represents a huge contrast to the week before.  With three tight chicanes and a hairpin, the average speed is a lot lower than at Spa and the chicanes’ curbs can easily cause a car to spin, so incidents are common around this tricky and technical track. Once again Nicklas Lindqvist took it all in stride, scoring heavily and extending his championship lead but, in his wake, the battle for second looks to be getting more intense week on week. Ferrari’s Gernot Fritsche once again failed to score more than [...]

Lingvist Extends Lead; Lotus Take a Stranglehold

by Katier Scott on March 11th, 2013

139
Steeped in F1 history, The Glen is always a popular spot on the CTC calendar.

Round 4 of the Lotus 79 Classic Teams Championship saw the field visit the perennial favourite, Watkins Glen. This classic race track generally sees a peak in participation but for some reason that didn’t materialize this season, although the participation remained consistent as 17 starts took place over the course of the week. Nicklas Lindqvist continued his superb form with another three wins, but failed to top the points as Gernot Fritsche beat the Scandinavian, Team Lotus sim-racer when it mattered. Fritsche seems to have been struggling this season and perhaps hasn’t got to grips with the NTM still, but this performance showed he still has what it takes as the field entered the second third of the season. “I have no idea how to setup cars but by Thursday [...]

Aiming for Number One . . . Again

by Chris Hall on March 1st, 2013

321
Luis is hoping to be out front of Huttu -- and everyone else -- in the 2013 iWCGPS.

The iRacing.com World Championship Grand Prix Series set to kick-off this Saturday at Spa-Francorchamps in an online race that will be broadcast on iRacing.com/live at 14:00 GMT (9 am).   Hugo Luis will be looking to hit the ground running in a bid to regain the title he lost in 2012. We caught up with the My3id team sim-racer to get his thoughts on last year and the season ahead. To many competitors, finishing second to Team Redline’s Greger Huttu in the 2012 iWCGPS is quite an achievement.  For Luis, who was defending the title, it was more of a case of what might have been. “It could be better. I didn’t feel that happy about the first half season performance,” he answers earnestly. “I already started the season without [...]

Linquvist Storms into CTC Lead

by Katier Scott on February 15th, 2013

139
Fresh off Week One at Brands Hatch, CTC competitors faced an altogether different challenge at Zandvoort.

From the Kentish Brands Hatch circuit the Classic Team Championship moved across the North Sea to Holland and the classic Zandvoort circuit. Zandvoort represents a much different challenge than the sweeping curves of Week One and up front the lead changed with Nicklas Lingqvist besting Gernot Fritsche into second place. BRM driver, Nilsson, dropped to 17th as a result but after his first round performance will remain one to watch. Tomasz Kozdron moved into third with Tyrrell’s Audrius Valantiejus taking fourth after a solid 200 point week and Victor Nandez rounded out the top five. Elsewhere Lubomir Moric, Paul Mills, Niklas Brattemark and Edward Van Velsen all scored strongly and gained a decent number of places in the championship. Unusually, the participation dropped from Week One, despite a traditionally popular [...]

iRacers Rule in Skip Barber IndyCar Academy Shootout

by David Phillips on January 28th, 2013

iRacers all . . .

Headed by Andre Gomes, iRacers swept the top three spots in the inaugural Skip Barber Racing School IndyCar Academy Shootout last weekend at Sebring International Raceway.  What’s more, iRacers took eight of the top ten places in the competition, which featured the most promising drivers to attend a three day Skip Barber Racing School in the past year and who had little or no racing experience.  Of course, the numbers were on iRacing’s side, given the fact that 15 of the 33 drivers invited to attend the shootout are iRacers (a 16th practiced for the competition using a friend’s iRacing account). Gomes dominated the proceedings, setting the fastest lap in each of the four on-track sessions as well as the fastest average lap time in each session.  In fact, in [...]

Hamstead Opens the Hatch, Claims V8 Supercar Title

by Dylan Sharman on January 28th, 2013

101
Muggleton and McLaughlin had quite a go of it in the season finale.

The 12th and final round of the 2012 Season4 iRacing.com V8 Supercar Championship took the teams to the UK for a visit to historic Brands Hatch. Madison Down’s absence from the final round meant Richard Hamstead would claim his second iRacing.com V8 Supercar Championship and join the missing Mr Down in becoming the second sim-racer to win more than one title – although he still has a ways to go to match Down’s five titles. Justin Ruggier captured the pole with a 1:26.702 while Hamstead would start from second after posting a best lap of 1:26.751 with Mitchell McLeod and Scott T McLaughlin starting from the second row. Vail Riches and Shaun Kelly occupied the third row ahead of Michael Fabian and Joshua Muggleton, while John Emerson and Jon Latham [...]
