Mercedes reveals 2013 car launch date

Mercedes will unveil its 2013 Formula 1 car at Jerez on 4 February. The launch of the W04 is taking place at the Spanish track the day before it hosts the first of the pre-season tests
Juncadella joins GP2 test with Rapax

Formula 3 Euro Series champion Daniel Juncadella will return to GP2 action when he tests again with the Rapax team at Jerez. The Spaniard, who recently drove a Ferrari Formula 1 car at Vallelunga after winning the FIA’s new European F3 crown this year, had already tested for Rapax in the Barcelona test at the end of last month .
F2 adds Buttarelli, Mirocha, Abadin

New HRT delayed by crash test failure

The new HRT car is set to make its debut in the third and final test of the pre-season after the Spanish squad’s plans were delayed because it didn’t pass all the mandatory crash tests this week.
New British team joins Auto GP grid

The Auto GP grid will have a new team in 2012, with the addition of Virtuosi UK, a British squad set up by businessman Declan Lohan. Lohan will have Andy Roche and Paul Devlin as partners

Green: Sixth a major disappointment

Jamie Green said that his sixth place finish in the latest round of the DTM at Lausitz represented a major disappointment. Green, who was one of the pre-season title favourites, started the race from the front row, but was passed easily by winner Martin Tomczyk early on. He then fell back into a battle involving his HWA Mercedes team-mate Gary Paffett and the Abt Audi of Oliver Jarvis, and was on course for seventh before Miguel Molina retired ahead of him
Ferrari boss demands improvement

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has demanded a fast improvement from his team following a slow start to the year. The Italian squad is yet to finish on the podium in the first three races of the season, having been unable to live up to the pre-season expectations
Franchitti struggles in Barber test

We’ve been promised visits from some special guests up in the press centre during the day, including Team Lotus’s chief technical officer Mike Gascoyne and Virgin’s new race driver Jerome D’Ambrosio. Unfortunately we can’t promise when they will come on because of the nature of testing, but we expect Jerome to visit us imminently.
Petrov first to test new Renault

Vitaly Petrov will be the first man to try out Renault’s new R31 car when it tests for the first time in Valencia next week. The Russian is scheduled to drive on the opening day of F1′s first pre-season test on February 1, before team-mate Robert Kubica takes over duties for the other two days. Renault is due to unveil its R31 in Valencia on January 31, with the car having been fired up for the first time in the team’s Enstone factory on Monday
