Rossi returns to GP2 with Caterham

Alexander Rossi will return to GP2 racing after the Caterham team announced he will replace Ma Qing Hua from this weekend’s Bahrain race. American Rossi had been appointed as Caterham Formula 1 team’s reserve driver alongside Ma at the start of last month. McLaren: Alonso’s lead is vulnerable

Fernando Alonso’s world championship lead is ‘exposed’ due to Ferrari not having the quickest car right now. That is the view of McLaren technical director Paddy Lowe, who says that his outfit takes heart from the current pecking order in Formula 1 – which makes it more likely Ferrari’s rivals will be able to close down its advantage. “They are certainly not the frontrunner of the four [leading] teams,” said Lowe, when asked by AUTOSPORT about Alonso’s comments that Ferrari was slowest of the title contenders

Williams confirms FW33 for Valencia test

The Williams team has confirmed that its new car will make its track debut on the opening day of testing at the start of next month. The British squad said on Tuesday that it will definitely run with the Cosworth-powered FW33 on 1 February, when F1 testing will kick off at the Valencia circuit.

Ferrari is expecting Giancarlo Fisichella to deliver valuable points for the outfit for the rest of the season, after officially confirming that the Italian will race for the Maranello team for the remainder of 2009. Fisichella is being drafted in as team-mate to Kimi Raikkonen after temporary stand-in Luca Badoer failed to impress during his two race stint with the team.
