Spain race quotes: Force India
May 12th, 2013
Paul di Resta – 7th: “We said before the race that seventh would be a good result and towards the end I was even fighting for sixth. So we can take a lot of positives from the weekend because this is a track that has traditionally not suited our car
Hamilton revelling in Mercedes’ freedom
May 7th, 2013
Lewis Hamilton says he is revelling in his new-found independence after leaving the ‘controlled’ environment of McLaren. Hamilton admitted there were points where he struggled for motivation, energy and focus during his time with the Woking-based squad, but insists such concerns have been banished following his gamble to move to Mercedes. “I have been in a very controlled environment since I can remember and it’s not until the last couple of years that I’ve come out of that control,” Hamilton told the Daily Mirror
Rosberg sure of stronger race pace
April 13th, 2013
Nico Rosberg says he has no concerns about only being fourth on the Chinese Grand Prix as he suspects his car will have better race pace than many other frontrunners. Last year’s dominant Shanghai winner had been tipped as a pole and victory threat having blitzed opening practice. But while Rosberg’s Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton stormed to the squad’s first pole of the 2013 Formula 1 season, the German was 0.4 seconds slower in fourth, behind Kimi Raikkonen’s Lotus and Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari
Ferrari: pace more important than tyres
March 18th, 2013
Ferrari believes it must still push hard to improve the speed of its car even though it lost the Australian Grand Prix because of tyre management rather than a lack of pace. Kimi Raikkonen was able to make a two-stop strategy work to win the race for Lotus , something no other frontrunner could do
Alonso: Ferrari ’200 times’ better
March 1st, 2013
Fernando Alonso says his Ferrari team’s state is ’200 times better’ going into the 2013 Formula 1 season than 12 months earlier. The Italian squad had a torrid winter in 2012 after its car proved to be a lot less competitive than expected ahead of the first race of the season.
Brazil Sunday quotes: Caterham
November 25th, 2012
Vitaly Petrov – 11th: “What an incredible race. I’m so pleased for the whole team and I want to thank every single one of them for doing such a fantastic job in the conditions today. Seeing what regaining tenth place in the championship meant to everyone when I got back to the garage was really special and I think we deserve it after all the hard work we’ve put in throughout the whole year.
Perez: I can’t silence critics until 2013
November 19th, 2012
Sergio Perez thinks there is nothing he can do to end the scepticism over whether he is the right man to replace Lewis Hamilton at McLaren until he races for the team. The Mexican has not scored a single point for Sauber since he signed for McLaren, and a spate of on-track incidents have left some questioning the wisdom of the Woking team’s choice. “Even if I won all the last races, there will always be question marks,” he said when asked by AUTOSPORT about the recent criticism.
Ferrari ‘cannot rely’ on Vettel problems
November 5th, 2012
Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali says his outfit cannot afford to rely on Sebastian Vettel hitting trouble if it is going to win the world championship this year. Fernando Alonso cut Vettel’s advantage to 10-points in Abu Dhabi, thanks to the Red Bull driver being excluded from qualifying.
Rivals say Vettel was lucky in race
November 5th, 2012
Sebastian Vettel’s rivals believe the Red Bull driver was lucky to be able to recover from a pitlane start to finish third in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Although the Red Bull driver pulled off some great overtaking moves to haul his way near the front of the field, he also enjoyed two moments of good fortune when safety cars came out at suitable times for him
Abu Dhabi Saturday quotes: Marussia
November 3rd, 2012
Charles Pic – 20th: “I am really very happy with my qualifying session today. I had a very good car; the balance was almost perfect. I lost a little bit of time in the second sector of my quick lap and that is how Kovalainen was able to get ahead
Keselowski glad to ‘survive’ race
October 29th, 2012
Brad Keselowski is glad to have come out ‘alive’ in the championship from Sunday’s Chase round at Martinsville , despite losing the points lead to Jimmie Johnson. The Penske driver overcame a poor qualifying in which he finished 32nd to eventually break into the top ten in the deciding stages, where he made a late gamble to stay on the track when most of the leaders pitted ahead of him for fresh rubber.
Perez not distracted by McLaren move
October 11th, 2012
Sauber’s Sergio Perez insists he is focused on this season and that he is not being distracted by next year’s move to McLaren. The 22-year-old Mexican was criticised by Lewis Hamilton , who branded a pass by Perez early in the race as a “crazy manoeuvre”
Ricciardo gutted to miss out on point
September 9th, 2012
Daniel Ricciardo said losing a point in the Italian Grand Prix within sight of the finish was an enormous disappointment amid a tough season for Toro Rosso. The 2008 Monza winning squad is a distant ninth in the constructors’ championship at present, but Ricciardo was on course for a 10th-place finish in Italy until a fuel pick-up problem slowed his car heading out of the very last corner of the race.
Nasr: Calado dice cost me win shot
September 2nd, 2012
Spa GP2 sprint race runner-up Felipe Nasr believes he could have caught winner Josef Kral had he been able to pass fellow series rookie James Calado earlier in the race. The Brazilian, who is the reigning British Formula 3 champion, took advantage of fresher Pirelli tyres to make an audacious move on rival Calado stick on the exit of the Bus Stop chicane on the last lap. “I think if I could have passed James with three laps to go, I definitely would have caught Kral,” Nasr said.

Ben Spies says he had “no clue” about his pace during each lap of a dramatic qualifying showdown at the Sachsenring due to a failed laptimer.
Kristofferson takes maiden victory
April 22nd, 2012
Johan Kristoffersson turned his first International Superstars Series pole position into his first win, with a thrilling race one victory at Imola. The young Swede led every lap of the 25-minute timed race, but he did not have things his own way.
Raikkonen laments tyre strategy
April 15th, 2012
Kimi Raikkonen was left lamenting his strategy in the Chinese Grand Prix after dropping down to 14th position in the end, having run as high as second place in the last third of the race. The Finn opted to stop just twice in the race, and the decision seemed to be working until his tyre performance dropped away completely in the final laps.

January 7th, 2012
Force India has indicated that its 2012 car will be ready for the first winter test at Jerez from 7 February, having completed the mandatory crash tests for the VJM05 before Christmas. In a rule change for 2012, the FIA now stipulates that the crash tests must be passed before testing can commence, putting pressure on teams to be ready sooner.
