Sam Bird scored his fourth GP2 victory of the season at Spa-Francorchamps on Saturday and put himself right back into the title fight in the process. The Briton won the feature race for the Russian Time team by seven seconds over Marcus Ericsson. Felipe Massa believes Eau Rouge is no longer a great corner despite it being one of the most famous parts of any circuit in the world. Two-time Champ Car champion and former Formula 1 team boss Gil de Ferran has become an ambassador for Formula E. Jazeman Jaafar scored his second win of the British Formula 3 International Series weekend at Brands Hatch after another drive under pressure from Jordan King. Malaysian Jaafar appeared to be sailing to victory early on, but King knuckled down and closed the gap to 0.7 seconds.

Felipe Guimaraes made the most of his opportunity to take his maiden British Formula 3 International Series win in the reversed-grid race Brands Hatch. The Brazilian trailed Fortec team-mate Will Buller away from the start, but for the second time this weekend Buller earned a drive-through penalty for a jumped start. When the Northern Irishman served the penalty at the end of the fourth lap, Guimaraes was given a useful lead over Jann Mardenborough

Jazeman Jaafar made a strong return to British Formula 3 by taking his first pole positions in the category in qualifying at Brands Hatch. The Malaysian, who is racing in Formula Renault 3.5 this season, put in two laps on his second set of tyres to leapfrog Jordan King, who had held onto the top spot for most of the session. Jaafar is contesting this weekend in order to be eligible for the Macau Grand Prix, and is not registered for points

Jolyon Palmer drove a brilliant race, taking full advantage of Carlin’s superior tyre strategy, to score an emphatic GP2 win in Hungary. Palmer started the race on the medium tyre and was able to go further than his nearest rivals before switching to another set of medium Pirellis. Making full use of his fresher rubber he pulled off a great move on Marcus Ericsson for the lead.

Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber secured another Red Bull one-two in the second Friday practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The German and the Australian had topped the morning session and they repeated the feat when drivers used the softer Pirelli tyres in the afternoon. Vettel led the way once more with a time of 1m21.264s as the top five drivers were covered by less than three tenths of a second

Former grand prix driver Rubens Barrichello will get his first taste of a Daytona prototype on Tuesday ahead of his debut in one of the Grand-Am coupes at Indianapolis this weekend. Barrichello will test the Doran team’s Dallara-Ford at Putnam Park near Indianapolis together with amateur driver Doug Peterson, his team-mate for this Friday’s Grand-Am round in support of the Brickyard 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup round.
