HRT Formula 1 refugee Narain Karthikeyan is set to continue his career in single-seater racing after securing a late deal to contest the Auto GP series opener with Austrian team Zele Racing. AUTOSPORT understands the former Jordan and HRT grand prix driver could expand his deal and race in the full eight rounds of this year’s series.

Lewis Williamson set the pace on the final day of GP3 Series at Estoril on Friday. Driving for Bamboo Engineering, which only announced its series entry this week, the 23-year-old Briton went fastest in a time of 1m27.675s, almost a second slower than Carlos Sainz Jr’s mark from the opening day. A short spell of rain during the afternoon looked set to leave Toyota Racing Series Nick Cassidy, testing for Manor, as the pacesetter.

LEXINGTON, Ohio — It was a British Invasion in Middle America as England’s Martin Plowman started on the pole and led every lap to claim his first Firestone Indy Lights Series victory in Sunday’s Mid-Ohio 100.
