Martin Truex Jr will take part in this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Atlanta despite being diagnosed with a fractured wrist. Truex sustained the damage to his right scaphoid when his Michael Waltrip Toyota was involved in a multi-car pile-up in the closing stage of the Bristol night race last Saturday

Auto GP championship challenger Sergio Campana has confirmed his participation in this weekend’s fifth round of the championship at Mugello. Campana’s campaign had been thrown into doubt after a decision by Giuseppe Cipriani, his Ibiza Racing team’s owner and team-mate, to curtail his season owing to a back complaint and business commitments. Cipriani was absent from the preceding meeting at Silverstone in June, although Ibiza fielded two cars for Campana and Fabrizio Crestani.

Marc Marquez has been diagnosed with a fractured finger and toe following his massive accident in MotoGP practice at Assen.

Marc Marquez was fastest in a wet second MotoGP practice at Assen, but the big news was that champion Jorge Lorenzo fractured his collarbone in a crash. Lorenzo was flung over the handlebars of his Yamaha when he went off on standing water at the fast Turn 13. It was confirmed immediately after the session that he had fractured his left collarbone, putting his participation in the rest of the Dutch Grand Prix weekend in doubt and jeopardising his championship bid

Carlos Munoz is set to make his IndyCar debut at next year’s Indianapolis 500 with Andretti Autosport. The 20-year-old Colombian has joined the team for a full-time campaign in Indy Lights next year, having won twice on his way to fifth in this year’s standings with rival squad Team Moore Racing.
