Valentino Rossi believes that Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa’s one-two finish at Brno is evidence that Honda has moved ahead of Yamaha in the MotoGP pecking order. Honda has now won the last four straight races – all courtesy of Marquez – and has taken pole position in six of the last eight events. Alexander Rossi hailed the impact of Caterham’s developments after the team elected to trial systems intended for use on its 2014 car during Formula 1′s Silverstone young driver test. Rossi said a new method of balancing the car through high and low speed corners proved effective, especially as he was conducting Caterham’s first trial of the new system. The team elected to test 2014 ideas in a bid to gain practical experience ahead of the massive regulation changes that accompany the advent of the 1.6-litre V6 turbo engines next year.

Valentino Rossi has questioned the safety of the Sachsenring layout following a spate of heavy crashes during the MotoGP weekend. Championship protagonists Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa were both forced to sit out Sunday’s race as a result of injuries sustained in horrible highsides during practice. Andrea Dovizioso, Nicky Hayden, Cal Crutchlow, Andrea Iannone and Bryan Staring were among a list of other riders to fall, with the sixth-gear right-hander of Turn 11 the chief area for incidents.

However, the seven-time champion believes repeating his victory in the Dutch TT – his first win since October 2012 – will be difficult because of the pace of poleman Marc Marquez.
