Valentino Rossi believes that Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa’s one-two finish at Brno is evidence that Honda has moved ahead of Yamaha in the MotoGP pecking order. Marc Marquez claimed his fourth straight victory, and the fifth of his rookie MotoGP campaign, in a thrilling Czech Grand Prix. The Spaniard prevailed in a race-long, three-way fight with Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa, with the trio covered by less than half a second for much of the race.

Jorge Lorenzo has been given medical clearance to compete in MotoGP’s United States Grand Prix at Laguna Seca after his latest operation. The reigning world champion had initially intended to skip this weekend to give himself time to properly recover from recent collarbone damage.

The after-effects of a huge practice crash prevented Pedrosa from contesting the German Grand Prix, in which his victorious Honda team-mate Marc Marquez assumed the championship lead

Jorge Lorenzo has undergone successful surgery on the collarbone injury that ruled him out of the MotoGP Sachsenring weekend. The Spaniard flew to Barcelona on Friday night in order to have an operation on his damaged shoulder. He bent the titanium plate inserted onto his Assen collarbone break when he was flicked off his Yamaha exiting Turn 10 early on in second practice.

Stefan Bradl led a Honda top-three lockout in a second MotoGP Sachsenring practice session marred by a huge accident for the already injured Jorge Lorenzo. The Spaniard carried on his morning momentum to put Yamaha top early on, but just three minutes in he was flicked off his bike at Turn 10 and landed on the left collarbone he broke at Assen. He spent the remainder of the session in the medical centre undergoing checks.

Valentino Rossi admits the pressure is now on him to spearhead Yamaha at the Dutch Grand Prix after his title-chasing team-mate Jorge Lorenzo was sidelined with a fractured collarbone. Lorenzo crashed at high speed in second practice at Assen on Thursday and will miss at least this weekend’s race.

Marc Marquez was fastest in a wet second MotoGP practice at Assen, but the big news was that champion Jorge Lorenzo fractured his collarbone in a crash. Lorenzo was flung over the handlebars of his Yamaha when he went off on standing water at the fast Turn 13. It was confirmed immediately after the session that he had fractured his left collarbone, putting his participation in the rest of the Dutch Grand Prix weekend in doubt and jeopardising his championship bid

Dani Pedrosa reckons tyres cost him a home MotoGP victory after finishing second to Jorge Lorenzo at Barcelona. Pedrosa had qualified his Honda on pole with a record-setting pace on Saturday, but he was beaten by Lorenzo at the start and sat behind the Yamaha rider for the duration of the grand prix

Dani Pedrosa took a dominant pole position for the MotoGP race at Barcelona, smashing Casey Stoner’s qualifying lap record from 2008 in the process. The factory Honda rider went seven tenths clear of the field with his best lap on his final run. His 1m40.893s was nearly 0.3 seconds faster than Stoner’s record, which was set when qualifying tyres were still used in MotoGP.

Jorge Lorenzo edged out Dani Pedrosa and Cal Crutchlow in an extremely close first practice session for MotoGP’s Catalunya Grand Prix at Barcelona. Pedrosa looked like he would be the man to beat as he very quickly got to within a few tenths of lap record pace on his Honda, setting an early 1m42.6s benchmark. But Lorenzo was able to respond, producing a 1m42.422s for Yamaha to claim the top spot
