Steven Wilson ties eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season wins record after sixth victory of 2025 at Indianapolis
July 23rd, 2025 by Justin Melillo

When the caution flag flew over Indianapolis Motor Speedway with nine laps remaining in the 13th round of the 2025 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season, everything learned up to that point was thrown out the window. There were so many different strategies on display when the field took the green with five laps to go. Steven Wilson (Spire Motorsports) was on a strategy that placed him in fourth for that particular restart. By the checkers, Wilson found himself in virtual victory lane for the sixth time this season, and for the 15th time in his career.
Just before the third and final restart of the day, Six Karma’s Daniel Faulkingham was forced to pull off with no fuel left in his tank. The restart prior, Wilson was able to sneak by Zack Novak (Channel 199 Sim Racing) for the second spot, exactly where he needed to be to take control after Faulkingham wound up on pit road. On the final restart, the field collapsed as they rounded Turn 2, freezing the field and ending the race under caution with Wilson in the winning position.
This is how Steven Wilson was able to score his sixth win of the 2025 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series season! He ties Nick Ottinger with the most wins in a single season… and still has five more races to break that record!

“It may not have been what I wanted, but it’s definitely what I needed there,” Wilson said post-race. “I was definitely running out of gas down the backstretch on the white flag there if that went green on the last green-white-checkered. When we pitted under green, I really short fueled it to keep my spot in line. I was pretty much saving fuel under green this whole race, just trying to maximize time on pit road. You couldn’t pass anybody once you got behind them… Zack (Novak) and Vicente (Salas), they had me beat… the golden horseshoe, it’s up there. We’ll take it.”
The victory ties Wilson with Nick Ottinger’s record of six wins in a season, a feat that the OttiBoss was able to accomplish back in 2013. This win also ties Wilson with Michael Conti on the all-time wins list, fifth overall with 15 wins each. With his six wins, plus his Segment 2 title, plus the fact that he currently leads the Segment 3 standings, Wilson has 35 playoff points guaranteed to go with him into the eNASCAR Playoffs, with the potential to take 45 into Michigan should he win at Pocono, or at the very least, 40 should he hold off the field in the Segment 3 standings.
The Regular Season finale is set for two weeks from now. It was originally scheduled at Echo Park Speedway, but will now take place at The Tricky Triangle in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, Pocono Raceway.
THE EVENT
After winning the last two races-in-a-row, Kanaan Esports’ Vicente Salas led the field to the green from the pole position, leading the opening 22 laps of the scheduled 60. A slew of cautions in the opening third of the race laid the foundation for how the rest of the night would turn out.
When the long run began at Lap 16, with 45 laps to go in regulation, the potential to make it the distance was placed front and center. Seven drivers who opted to pit during the early cautions also opted to stay out for the long run, with the leaders choosing to pit early in the going, essentially running the race backwards due to the fact that staying on the lead lap was possible. Salas led the leaders onto pit road at Lap 23. Wilson came down a few laps later. By the midway point, there were just those seven drivers.

They were eRacr’s Tyler Garey, JR Motorsports’ Briar LaPradd, Apex Racing Team’s Christopher Hill, Six Karma’s Daniel Faulkingham, Vegas Inferno’s Michael Guest, JR Motorsports’ Blake McCandless, and ERA eSports’ Bobby Zalenski.
Garey, LaPradd, and Hill decided to run at full capacity, running away from the other four on the same strategy. Those four decided to attempt to make it the rest of the way on fuel. Garey and LaPradd led the field for 17 laps before they opted to come in, handing the lead to Hill for the next eight laps. Meanwhile, Salas and the others on the majority strategy were catching up to the backend of the four drivers attempting to stretch their fuel.
Right before the overlap began, and right as Hill was forced to pit, the caution flew once more, completely changing the game once again.

Faulkingham and McCandless were the only two on the long form strategy to stay out. Guest and Zalenski bit the bullet and opted to pit. As Salas took the left down pit road, Novak and Wilson cut back to the right to stay on track. Hill, who was able to take full service, cycled out to restart in 10th. Salas would start in 15th, and it would prove to bite him on the following restart as he crashed together with Casey Kirwan (Kansas City Pioneers) entering Turn 1.
Running on fumes, Faulkingham led the field back to green for the first eNASCAR Overtime attempt. This restart attempt went slightly longer than the previous one, but the caution flew before the lap could complete, which meant a second attempt at finishing the race under green. Faulkingham knew his fuel was close, and his only chance was to make it to the white flag on this attempt. Lining up alongside Novak, and with Wilson behind, the field barreled into Turn 1, a powder keg about to explode.
In the short chute between Turns 3 and 4, the caution flew once again, ultimately ending Faulkingham’s chances at going back-to-back in Indy. As the #39 took the left down pit road, the #77 of Wilson was now ahead, as he was able to sneak past the #2 of Novak on that previous restart.
One final chance, and as it turns out, the perfect storm for Wilson who was also on fumes. As the caution flew down the backstretch, the field was frozen for the final time. Wilson kept pace and went on to claim the victory as his fuel depleted.

PLAYOFF OUTLOOK
Steven Wilson, with his six wins, will be the #1 seed entering the 2025 eNASCAR Playoffs. Tucker Minter (William Byron eSports), Vicente Salas, Bobby Zalenski, and Kollin Keister (Jim Beaver eSports) aren’t locked into a seeding just yet, but they are locked into the Playoffs by virtue of their wins through the Regular Season.
Zack Novak, Parker White (Atlassian Williams), and Casey Kirwan also locked up their spots in the 2025 eNASCAR Playoffs at Indy on Tuesday night. With the potential of having a new winner at Pocono in two weeks, those three had to have at least 40 points over 10th place by the end of the night, that position held by Dylan Duval (Channel 199 Sim Racing).
Jordy Lopez (BS+COMPETITION) currently sits ninth and is all but locked into the playoffs. If there is no new winner in two weeks, Lopez will fight for a title for the second time in three years. If there is a new winner, he needs to earn at least 11 points, which would ensure that Duval could not pass him, the only driver mathematically able to do so, which means Lopez needs a 26th place finish or better no matter what to clinch his place on the Playoff grid.

Duval only leads the cut line by 10 points, but there are four hungry drivers right on the other side. Michael Guest, Michael Cosey Jr (ERA eSports), and Dylan Ault (Hyak Motorsports) all sit tied for 11th, 10 points away from the transfer. Ryan Luza (fgrAccel), who has been on a tear lately, is now only 12 points out. Connor Yeroschak (Letarte Esports) and Seth DeMerchant (fgrAccel) are the final two drivers with a mathematical shot to point their way in without a new winner at Pocono.
There are a number of drivers that will be looking to take that win and slip into the Playoffs. Donovan Strauss (Atlassian Williams), Femi Olatunbosun (Spire Motorsports), Graham Bowlin (Kansas City Pioneers), Garrett Lowe (BS+COMPETITION), Malik Ray (Vegas Inferno), Christopher Hill, and Blaze Crawford (Team Dillon Esports) are all in a spot where if they win, they will be in the eNASCAR Playoffs no matter what.
There are a handful of drivers outside the top-20 that could also win and get in, like rookie Quentin Warman (Hyak Motorsports) in 24th and Nick Ottinger (William Byron eSports) in 25th. They will need help, as just a win isn’t a guarantee. They will also need to overcome the points difference between where they currently sit and 20th place, a prerequisite for using a win to get in.
Only 10 drivers can chase the championship. Eight of those seats are already filled, with a ninth being tightly held. Will the 10th and final spot come down to points, or will someone be able to win and get in as it’s been the case for the last two seasons?
The 14th and final round of the 2025 Regular Season is scheduled for Tuesday, August 5th, at Pocono Raceway. Tune in at 7:30 p.m. ET for the Countdown to Green. Race coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET at eNASCAR.com/live and across iRacing social media channels.
