2026 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series | Preview | Race 9 at Daytona Int’l Speedway
August 18th, 2026 by Justin Melillo
The road to $500,000 comes to a hard stop for all but 10 drivers as the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series concludes its Regular Season on Tuesday night. Where the 40-car field stops taking entries to the Playoffs is where the season usually begins—in Daytona Beach, Florida. This year, Daytona kicked off the Qualifying Series, but it will also host the last shot that 20 drivers have to make the final four positions still unclaimed on the Playoff grid.
Bobby Zalenski, Steven Wilson, Garrett Lowe, Parker White, Vicente Salas, and Tucker Minter, by virtue of wins or points, have clinched their place. Connor Yeroschak, Shawn Conklin, Wyatt Tinsley, and Casey Kirwan currently hold the final four spots on points. Another 16 drivers below Kirwan have a mathematical shot to either point in, or win into the Playoff battle. This being the great equalizer known as superspeedway racing, anything can, and often will happen at this level.
Matthew Zwack makes his return to the series as a fill-in driver for Jim Beaver eSports’ No. 15 this week, filling in for Kollin Keister. Who will win, and who will take their place among the Playoff field for the 2026 Championship Series season? Coverage for the ninth round of the Championship Series season begins at 8 p.m. ET at eNASCAR.com/live and across iRacing social media channels. Tune in 15 minutes earlier to catch the Countdown to Green at 7:45 p.m. ET.
PREVIOUS RACE: VICENTE SALAS BREAKS THROUGH, CLINCHES PLAYOFF BERTH AT RICHMOND
A win was likely unnecessary for Kanaan Esports’ Vicente Salas to claim a ticket to the 2026 eNASCAR Playoffs, but at Richmond Raceway two weeks ago, he left no chances otherwise on the table after a dominant night around The Action Track. Salas was fastest the entire night, from practice, to qualifying, to winning his Heat race, to leading nearly every lap in the Main Event. The site of his first career win, where he led every single lap in a 203-lap contest back in 2021, Salas nearly did the same, leading all 25 laps of his Heat, and 69 of 72 laps in the Feature to claim his first win of the season, stacking momentum with the Playoffs right around the corner.
LAST YEAR: SEASON OPENING VICTORY FOR STEVEN WILSON’S EVENTUAL TITLE
The moment that kicked off Steven Wilson’s record-breaking 2025 season came in the opening round of the year at Daytona International Speedway. For the first four years of his career, the Spire Motorsports competitor was winless at the World Center of Racing, coming up just short in the 2024 iteration just one year prior behind the Pioneers’ Wyatt Tinsley. This time, it was less in his control, and more at the mercy of the chaos found on the final lap, where about four different drivers all thought they made the right move to win the thing. Wilson made his move to the front on the back half of the lap, but he still needed to play some defense against Parker White. Wilson did just that and scored that elusive victory.
QUALIFYING SERIES: FAULKINGHAM OPENS YEAR WITH DAYTONA DUB
Daytona has the distinction of being the first track in the 2026 season to be featured in both the Qualifying Series and Championship Series schedules. Back in February, when the Qualifying Series initially kicked off, more than 1,300 iRacing members registered to race across 37 splits at Daytona with the same end goal—qualify for a chance to race in the 2026 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series. The Top Split event had some of the best on the service going three, sometimes four-wide in attempts to make ground, but the Norse Force connection was strong as ever out front. Daniel Faulkingham was able to hold on to claim the win, which led to him reentering Free Agency a few months later, signing with Rick Ware Racing for the Championship Series season. Entering Tuesday’s race at Daytona, Faulkingham has the chance to sweep the season and earn a place in the Playoffs for the second time in his career.
STANDINGS ENTERING DAYTONA
There are a number of points standings to keep an eye on this season besides the Driver’s Standings. There will also be Team Standings to keep track of, where the two drivers of each official team will earn points towards the Team Championship at the end of the season.
Every three races, there will be a three-race mini-championship, dubbed Segments, where the driver with the most points in that stretch will earn five additional Playoff Points. Finally, there are nine rookies competing this season, but only one can be the Rookie of the Year.

As mentioned above, six drivers are locked into the 2026 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series playoffs. That list includes Bobby Zalenski, Steven Wilson, Vicente Salas, Parker White, Garrett Lowe, and Tucker Minter. All but Minter are in due to a win on the season. Minter is 46 points ahead of 10th in the standings, which is to account for any potential new winners in the final race of the Regular Season at Daytona. The maximum number of points that can be earned over a driver without a win being in the conversation is 34 points, so that more than satisfies that criteria.
Connor Yeroschak, Shawn Conklin, Wyatt Tinsley, and Casey Kirwan all currently hold the final four spots on the Playoff grid entering Daytona. Kirwan is four points ahead of Quentin Warman, five ahead of Jordy Lopez, and seven ahead of Zack Novak. Dylan Duval, Donovan Strauss, Christopher Hill, Femi Olatunbosun, and Matthew Morton can all point their way in mathematically. Daniel Faulkingham in 19th is 37 points back, but the only way he could break into the top-10 is by getting a full 40 points, which would just be a win-and-in condition anyway.
From Faulkingham down to Michael Cosey Jr in 26th are eight drivers that could win and get into the Playoffs still. Easy enough for Faulkingham and Sebastian Marin, who already have the points to exist in the top-20. For Seth DeMerchant, Kenny Brady, Thomas Lloyd, Malik Ray, and Cody Byus, they will need some help besides a win to get them over the top-20 threshold. The only way that Cosey Jr gets in with a win is if Marin only scores one point and the others in front of him also don’t jump ahead of him in the points. Everyone from Seth Noell in 27th on down has been officially eliminated from Playoff contention.
There will also be five Playoff points on the line at Daytona for a number of drivers competing for the Segment 3 title. Wilson and Lowe padded their Playoff Point totals entering the Playoffs by winning the first and second Segments, respectively. White, Salas, or Zalenski could win it and add another five to their earned total already, or another driver without a win could also win it and utilize it as a de facto win, giving themselves a small boost for the three-race round to determine the Championship Series Championship 4.
This will also be the penultimate round of the William Byron eSports Bracket Challenge, where Quentin Warman faces Parker White and Christopher Hill is set to take on Connor Yeroschak to see which two drivers will face off at Michigan for the bracket title.
DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY TRACK FACTS
Known as “The World Center of Racing”, Daytona International Speedway has a deep history in many facets of American motorsport, from NASCAR and their annual Daytona 500 to IMSA and their 24-hour battle for the Rolex 24. This track also hosts Bike Week’s Daytona 200, Daytona Supercross, Daytona KartWeek between Christmas and New Year’s Day, and a host of driving school, club, and other events. Last month, the Rolex 24 at Daytona traversed the 3.56-mile road course that encompasses the infield and most of the oval. For NASCAR purposes, and for this race in particular, we’ll see a multitude of stock cars ripping around 200 mph consistently on the 2.5-mile high banks.
NEXT RACE: PLAYOFF SEASON STARTS AT MICHIGAN
Following Daytona, the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series will race next at Michigan International Speedway to kick off the eNASCAR Playoffs. Last year, Steven Wilson clinched his ticket towards winning his second title by winning an improbable race at the two-mile oval in Brooklyn, Michigan. A late caution wound up costing Tucker Minter his chance at making the Championship 4. Will he find redemption in 2026?
The action from Michigan starts on September 1st with the Countdown to Green pre-race show at 7:45 p.m. ET.
