2025 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series | Preview | Race 2 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
February 25th, 2025 by Justin Melillo
The next stop on the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series schedule is at the virtual Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Tuesday night. The 1.5-mile, D-shaped oval returns for the 16th straight season, having appeared on every schedule in series history since the start. 10 drivers have won at Las Vegas previously, including Ryan Luza, the most-winningest of all with four. Jimmy Mullis is also a past winner back in 2020. The other 38 drivers in the field will be looking for their first at the venue.
Race coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET at eNASCAR.com/live and across iRacing social media channels. The Countdown to Green pre-race show will lead in the action 30 minutes prior, starting at 7:30 p.m. ET.
LAST RACE
Two weeks ago, Steven Wilson returned to the top of the mountain by claiming his first career victory at Daytona International Speedway. Wilson wasn’t the first, or second driver to lead on the final lap. Rookie Connor Yeroschak took the field to the white flag, but Daniel Faulkingham was able to get by him with help from Wilson and Parker White into Turn 1.
On the backstretch, the field began to tandem up, and that’s when Wilson struck into Turn 3. Wilson took the run while White got to his bumper—a perfect block. Contact between White and Faulkingham was enough to give Wilson enough of an advantage to take it at the line.
LAST YEAR
Wilson’s first of multiple wins in 2024 almost came at Las Vegas, until the race evolved into a multiple pit strategy event. Wilson, on the regular strategy, led 65 laps, but eventually pitted and relinquished his advantage. This allowed for a couple of gamblers to cycle to the front, led by Cody Byus and Nick Ottinger. On the final lap, the two tangled off of Turn 4. Byus went into the outside wall, and Ottinger attempted to gather it back up. Before he could, a third fuel saver, Keegan Leahy, managed to squeeze by just before the checkers, claiming his 13th and final career victory.
TRACK FACTS
Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s 1.5-mile tri-oval opened in 1996, welcomed its first NASCAR Xfinity Series race in 1997, and added a NASCAR Cup Series race in March 1998. The speedway was reconfigured in 2006, with progressive banking up to 20 degrees in its corners to increase side-by-side racing. Like many other Speedway Motorsports facilities, Las Vegas Motor Speedway includes a drag strip and dirt oval on-site, as well as roval configurations and even a paved short track called “The Bullring”.
NEXT RACE
Following Las Vegas, the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series takes its annual international field trip, this time to Brazil to take on the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, better known as Interlagos. The last two international races, at Monza Circuit and Brands Hatch, have been won by Bobby Zalenski. Steven Wilson, Parker White, Vicente Salas and more will be looking to end that trend at the 2.677-mile motorsport circuit located in the city of São Paulo.
