The Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup returns on Saturday with the fourth race of the 2025 season, the Mid-Season Tournament event at the Sachsenring. 30 of the best sim racers in the world will take on a different challenge than usual as they compete for more points and prizes, with five Heat races and a Consolation race replacing the usual opening Sprint race at the 2.26-mile, 13 corner venue that is brand new to the series this season.

Live streaming of the events will begin on Saturday at 18:00 GMT (1PM ET) via Porsche’s channels on YouTube and Twitch with the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup All-Star series. The Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup pro drivers will take off one hour afterwards, at 19:00 GMT (2PM ET).

Race Format:

The 2025 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup Mid-Season Tournament mixes up the usual status quo, removing the regular Sprint race for a knockout-style event. The 30 drivers in the series will qualify, as usual, with the top-five collecting the normal bonus points, 10 to the TAG Heuer Pole Award winner and 2 to the fifth place driver.

From there, the field is split into five Heat races of six drivers each, those races scheduled at three laps apiece. The top-two finishers advance to the Main from each Heat. Points are also awarded in each Heat, with the winners taking home 25 points and sixth place finishers collecting 15. Everyone who did not advance to the Main is moved to the Consolation race, an eight-lap event that sees the top-five finishers move on to the Main. No points are awarded here, but everyone from sixth on back is eliminated.

The 15 drivers that qualify for the Main event will race for 16 laps as normal, with the winner scoring 50 points. 85 points is still the maximum points available, but this format invites higher stakes in the possibility of not racing in the Main event at all.

Last Race

Back in the middle of February, the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup took on the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps for the third race of the season. Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing had a day, as both of their drivers were able to collect victories and jump to the top-two positions in the points. Cooper Webster took the opening Sprint victory, taking the lead from polesitter Mitchell deJong to do so. In the Main, following the invert, Sebastian Job managed to get by Luke McKeown for the win.

Last Season:

Watkins Glen International played host to the 2024 Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup Mid-Season Tournament. After the heat and consolation races, 15 drivers gridded up for the first Mid-Season Tournament Feature event. Alejandro Sánchez scored the win on that day, collecting an extra $4,000 after holding off Luke McKeown and Diogo Pinto for the victory.

Track Facts:

Located in the state of Saxony, the Sachsenring is one of eastern Germany’s easternmost racing circuits, and a regular host of major events like DTM and the German motorcycle Grand Prix. The original Sachsenring circuit spanned more than five miles through public roads, but stopped hosting races in 1990. The modern layout began to take shape in the mid-1990s. After the unification of West and East Germany, a new permanent facility was constructed, and the track received multiple tweaks until settling into its current form in 2003, a 2.26-mile circuit with 13 turns.

All Stars:

The PESC All-Stars are back in 2025 with one of the biggest star-studded lineups in series history. eNASCAR champion Casey Kirwan was victorious in the 2024 PESC All-Stars championship, winning his second title in a row, this time over Pablo “Pulpo” Lopez. Kirwan, Lopez, and other champions such as Emree and Quirkitized return in 2025, with many real world drivers taking part on occasion, such as Tony Kanaan and perhaps a few other surprises throughout the season. This week, the Mid-Season Tournament event welcomes Connor Brown to the lineup as All-Stars Wildcard winner.

Kirwan scored another victory at Spa three weeks ago in the opening race of the afternoon. He still hasn’t managed a clean sweep yet, but came close by finishing second in the second race following the invert, that race won by a first-time winner in Stradi.

Next Up:

After the Mid-Season Tournament, the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup and the All-Stars will take another break before the fifth race of the season at Thruxton Circuit. The Thruxton events are scheduled for Saturday, March 29th, and will be live starting at 18:00 GMT (2PM ET) via Porsche’s channels on YouTube and Twitch with All-Stars on tap first. The Supercup races will take off one hour afterwards, at 19:00 GMT (3PM ET).
