October 30th, 2025 by Justin Melillo

These teams are made up of three pools of qualified teams, including Class Champions in 2024 IMSA Esports Global Championship, 2025 VCO Grand Slam Broadcast Split GTP or GTD Class Winners, and iRacing Public Pre-Qualifying transfers. No team may have more than two cars in a single class, or three cars across all classes.
Teams can use as many substitute drivers as wanted, and there are already lineup changes expected for the opening round at Road Atlanta. Each round may also include a Michelin ‘Wild Card’ Entry, an additional team included in the festivities that doesn’t race for points, but does race for glory. Last season, the Michelin Wild Card entries at Daytona included Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen driving a GTP.

THE 2025 IMSA ESPORTS GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
A unique twist to the series debuts in the 2025 season. It will once again be a four-round season, with three returning mainstays from the prior championship back on the schedule. The season will once again start at Road Atlanta and end in Daytona, the opposite of how it is on the real-world calendar. Sebring also returns, this time in the second slot on the calendar, moving up from the third round in the 2024 season.
Round 3 will be unique in the sense that the classes will race separately, and at different venues for the first time in virtual competition history. The GTP class will take to the streets of Long Beach, while the GTDs will race at VIRginia International Raceway. While the normal multi-class events will take place over a two hour, 40 minute timeframe as usual, the split races in Round 3 will be 75 minutes each instead.
Rounds 2 and 3 will also see the introduction of the IMSA Esports LMP3 Challenge, with 12 qualified drivers from the Grid Finder LMP3 Challenge competing in 20-minute, fixed setup races against select special guests. More information regarding the LMP3 Challenge will be revealed before Round 2.
- Round 1: Sunday, November 2nd | Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta
- Round 2: Sunday, November 16th | Sebring International Raceway
- Round 3: Sunday, November 23rd | Long Beach Street Circuit (GTP) & VIRginia International Raceway (GTD)
- Round 4: Sunday, December 7th | Daytona International Speedway
THE 2025 IMSA ESPORTS GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS STRUCTURE
As it has been in the last few seasons, scoring will once again include points for both Qualifying and Race finishing positions in both classes.
Winning a race will earn a team 350 points, with second scoring 320, points gapped by 20 down to fifth place, which earns 260, and then down at 10 point intervals from there, with 30th and beyond scoring 10 points. For qualifying, the pole sitting teams earn 35 points, with a similarly spaced structure going down the order until just a single point is awarded.
