No, we’re not talking about Will Power, Simon Pagenaud, Justin Wilson, JR Hildebrand, Josef Newgarden, Simona de Silvestro, Oriol Servia and Ed Carpenter.   We’re talking about “Camp Bettenhausen” and the iRacing cheering section atop the spectator mound in the Keyhole for Sunday’s  Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.  One of the highlights of the weekend was Pagenaud’s Saturday afternoon visit to iRacing’s (very) informal compound in the Mid-Ohio campground – anchored by the trailer of Todd and Cary Bettenhausen.

iRacing was well represented on - and off - the track at Mid-Ohio last weekend. Here Todd and Cary Bettenhausen occupy the front row (along with an interloper in the Office Depot hat). Row 2 is (l-r) Dave Judson, Eric Vanek, Al and Jeremy Nagy. The back row features (l-r) Jay McFarland, Tim Doyle and Chris Manifold.

The fact that Pagenaud managed to squeeze an extra lap or two worth of fuel out of his last stint to secure a third place finish on Sunday probably had nothing to do with the positive energy being channeled his way by the iRacing contingent . . .
