Best known for winning seven iRacing.com V8 Supercar Series championships, Madison Down has recently won a seat in a real race car in Racecentre’s Race to Realitycompetition.

Down proudly sports his RTR trophy and “ticket” to an ARC drive.

“Australia’s Most Advanced Simulation Centre,” Racecentre have been running a year-long competition to find Australia’s top sim driver. Recently they held the Grand Final of 16 drivers linking their two stores in Sydney and the Gold Coast to find out who would take the title. Down took the victory in style by winning all three heats but it still came down to the last race to determine the winner.

Visibly shaking Madison was in shock realising what was ahead of him come December 6-8, when he will be racing in the Australian Racing Car series (ARC) at Sydney Olympic Park (home of the Sydney 200 Olympics). The event is held in conjunction with the Grand Final of the V8 Supercar Series which is well known throughout the iRacing community thanks to the inclusion of the Ford FG01 Falcon and most recently the Mount Panorama circuit.

Madison has proven himself with his sim-racing and real life racing. Along with his father Kim, he recently collected himself a swag of trophies and titles at the Australian Cobra Nationals.

“We know that Madison has what it takes to win in December as he truly is a talent behind the wheel and we can’t wait for the V8 teams to see him in action” says Shane Gilfeather Manager of Racecentre – Sydney. “We hope that all Aussie and international sim drivers get behind him and wish all the best”
