Game Systems Engineer

We are seeking a talented Game Systems Engineer to help drive the development of foundational systems to join our team full-time and help take our products to the next level.
The Position
iRacing is seeking a Game Systems Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working on shipped console titles, possess advanced C++ skills, and be proficient in debugging complex systems and platform optimization. A passion for racing games is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain core systems such as input, save/load, audio, streaming, memory management, and performance tools.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate systems that support gameplay, UI, physics, AI, and online features.
- Optimize systems for reliability, performance, and platform compliance across the console.
- Debug complex issues at the engine and systems level using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
- Implement and improve tools, frameworks, and pipelines that empower content creators and gameplay teams.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C++
- Experience working in Unreal Engine 5 and Blueprint workflows.
- Experience developing games that have launched on Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox
- Skilled in creating scalable gameplay systems that streamline workflows for design and art.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Preferred
- Experience developing systems for PlayStation and Xbox.
- Familiar with systems such as networking, physics engines, audio pipelines, or asset streaming
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5 and its subsystems
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in a cross-functional development environment.
- Background in developing racing games with a genuine enthusiasm for motorsports.
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent

- This position is a full-time remote within the United States.
