We are seeking a talented System Engineer with a strong background in developing core game systems, including input, save, sound, and other foundational systems, to join our team full-time and help take our products to the next level.
The Position
iRacing is seeking a Systems Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working on shipped console titles, possess advanced C++ skills, and have experience with Unreal Engine 5. A passion for racing games is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize core game systems that support gameplay across console
platforms. - Collaborate with gameplay, graphics, audit, and UI teams to integrate and optimize systems.
- Maintain and improve existing systems to enhance performance, stability, and scalability.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to console game development.
- Contribute to shipped titles for PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in developing core engine and gameplay systems – covering input,
persistence, and sound for modern game development. - Advanced proficiency in C++ game development
- Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine 5
- Strong debugging, optimization, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Contributed to the successful development and release of titles on Sony PlayStation and Microsoft
Xbox platforms.
Preferred
- Experience with multi-threading, memory management, and performance optimization on consoles.
- Strong understanding of console hardware architectures and platform-specific optimizations.
- Familiarity with networking and online systems for multiplayer.
- Understanding physics, animation, or input systems in modern game engines.
- Experience with version control systems in large-scale projects.
- Background in developing racing games with a genuine enthusiasm for motorsports.
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent

- This position is a full-time remote within the United States.
