Ty Majeski celebrates what he hopes is the first of many wins in the 2015 World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.

Ty Majeski wheeled his iRacing.com Ford Fusion to a dramatic win in last night’s Super Late Model race at New Smyrna Speedway, the second round in the 49th Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.  After posting the second fastest time in qualifying, Majeski sliced his way to the front from ninth on the inverted grid.  With ten laps remaining in the 35 lap race, he got under Garrett Jones to take the lead and went on to take the win.

“I got up front and started running down the leader,” Majeski said. “He was real tight in (Turns) 1 and 2 and I could get underneath him, but it was real tough to pass. I guess I would have expected him to do the same to me. We made a little contact and (it was) just short track racing.

“I just tried to keep being methodical about it and tried to be as clean as possible. I had to use him up just a little bit — nothing too dirty or anything. It was an awesome race and hopefully the fans enjoyed it.”

The seven race World Series continues today (Sunday) with the third round of the seven race event which runs through Saturday, Feb. 21.
