Through the first three rounds of the iRacing World of Outlaws Carquest Sprint Car Series season, the usual suspects had established themselves as front-runners. Past iRacing World of Outlaws champions Alex Bergeron and Hayden Cardwell had won the first three races, and Bergeron entered Monday night’s tilt at Lincoln Speedway as the points leader in search of yet another title.

But sometimes, a new track to the schedule can create some magic for new drivers. Originally, it looked like Timothy Smith would finally score his first win of the season after a stellar first few rounds of the campaign, but when the dust settled, it’d be Kenny Miller who took the checkered flag after tracking Smith down late, taking over the lead with nine laps to go, and avoiding a massive wreck behind him on the final lap.

Smith, Miller, Bergeron, and Bryce Lucius won the four heat races, while familiar faces Braden Eyler and JD Brown would take the B and C mains. A pair of immediate cautions would get the action off to a slow start, with Eyler and Cardwell among those whose feature rounds were cut short early. The race would see one more caution on Lap 14 for the flipping car of Tanner Pettit before going green the rest of the way.

Smith had been in control throughout the fragmented first half of the race, but Miller—who counts Lincoln among his hometown tracks in the real world—would ride the outside line to eventually claim the lead for the first time on Lap 27. After a few laps of trading the top spot multiple times, Miller would grab it for good as Bergeron got past Smith, and as those two battled for second, James Edens pulled into the mix as well. Unfortunately, it all went for naught for that trio; they got tangled up in Turns 1 and 2 on the final lap, giving Miller an easy win as the field scrambled up behind them. Kendal Tucker and Clayton Tilley would inherit second and third, while Bergeron, Smith, and Edens would fall to 12th, 13th, and 14th.
